Upset about getting back SA results

You should ask. I tried that but was told they had to go to my GP as I wouldn't understand them....:growlmad:

Oh how little they know! Don't they realise we have thousands of women on here who are experts at analysing these things! :dohh::shrug:

Receptionist wouldn't give hubby his thyroid or testosterone figures over the phone yesterday either (although I think she would have if he pushed her - I've pushed for figures and finally been given them just so I'd go away!! :winkwink:)

Hubby had his done recently and they just said it was ok - the norm. Didn't mention numbers or morphology or motility or ANYTHING! They said he had a viscous analysis but that wasn't a problem?!...... x

Same as us then!
I'm just not happy with it, I can't accept that I need numbers lol

If you're after test results quicker than your specialist's appt, the best bet is to speak to your GP surgery and get them to request a copy of the results to be faxed/sent to them. (This applies to any diagnostic test in the UK). They *may* also do that if you ask the test department - just make sure your GP surgery is expecting the results as well so they can keep an eye out for them.

(Some depts don't like to send unsolicited results to GPs if you've been referred for specific tests by a specialist - this is because the GP isn't expecting the results and can get confused/concerned without reason. They will still send results if they know the GP is expecting them though!)

Hope this helps, and good luck training your man :)

He's already had the appointmnet but they still won't give them to him

I'm gona get him to ring and ask for them to be sent the GP.
They said he can arrange a new appointment with the FS but not only do we not know when that will be (his next one is in Sept) I don't think it's fair to waste his time when he can just pick up a copy from thE GP.

Haha thanks hun!
Will probably take me some years! :)

A friend of mine ended up sending her DH to any Dr's appt with a 'questionnaire' letter to ensure he asked the right questions. On the first appointment with a new doc she also sent a copy of the questionnaire direct to Doc as well so it was waiting for DH at time of appt. (Not that she didn't trust him, but...... Well he's a man!)

Apparently the doc was brilliant and after a few laughs between blokes about how nosy wives were, he agreed it was actually a good idea. I believe he's actually suggested it to other patients since!

My DH is fairly well trained in most things, but a complete novice when it comes to medic stuff. I once asked him what some blood test results were and he looked at me blankly - and this was less than 30minutes after his appt. For a clever man he's a total thicko sometimes!

I send mine with a questionnaire too! But he forgot to take it :dohh:
Honestly!! :nope: :haha:

Next time I'll take your friends idea and send the doctor a copy

I would of gone with him but I had to make another appointment , turns out I didn't have the other appointment booked so I could of gone with him and solved all of this drama lol

Can I ask why you had a very expired implant still in? lol
Did you just forget to get it taken out or just never did? :flower:

Oh no about the other appointment! And typical man to forget the instructions. FX'd you'll get the details of your DH's results soon and can evaluate more thoroughly!

Hehe -As for the implant I work stupid hours and am rubbish at remembering dates - plus we got married quite recently and I had a few other things on my mind (such as the stupid unpronouncable volcano which almost put paid to the whole thing!). How I could have forgotten I still had it in I don't know, but once I realised, I then discovered my GP doesn't take implants out! More time wasted finding a FP clinic to do so and arranging time from work to suit. blah blah blah

Ah well, it's either laughing or crying - and i'm fed up of the second option!

I know! :dohh:

Oh :haha:
That's funny, definatley laugh at it! O:)

When I first read it I didn't get it!
I was like. . . belated implant? Then I seen removal (didn't put them together like a sentance how any normal person would :haha:)
And I got so confused, I was like is that some sort of IVF issue

Then I finally got it and had to chuckle to myself, my OH couldn't wait for me to get mine out and was trying to get it out of me months before it should of been lol

Congratulations on the wedding!!!
We're very newly engaged but will probably be a few years before we're married, just a money issue! :)

Congratulations on the engagement!!! And weddings are big money pits :)

We have only recently started trying properly this time, but know I have a couple of background problems that will probably make it difficult. Hey, ho it's still very early days so I shouldn't even really be in here yet. I've just had a fair bit of experience at managing results and doctors over the years so wanted to smooth things for you if I could :)

Thanks hun :)
He propsed on my graduation day!!
Oh god don't scare me :haha:
I#m sure it won't happen for another four years or so :(

I did wonder how come you had been mooching in here when you've just had the implant out, but didn't know how to ask without seeming a bit. . rude? lol

What are your background problems?
Just ebing nosey! :haha:
