Urgent cake decorating advice needed

Hi, please can anyone give me some cake decorating advice urgently, it is my lo's 1st birthday tomorow bonfire night, and we bought her a firework cake, with all shooting stars sticking out, but i want to be able to write her name on it, only have an asda by me, how can i do this, either with marzipan letters or thick icing, which i can colour, rather than using an icing tube as i do not have a steady hand and want the letters to be thick not thin, how to do the letters? and how long will it take, do they have to dry or apply right away, can you buy these already done? thanks

I'm sure I've seen pre made letters in Asda - they do quite a good baking range at the one by me x
