urgent help needed please! Clomid

Really hope someone can help! May be TMI for some people.
I'm supposed to start taking clomid this cycle. (awaiting full diagnosis of pcos)
I'm to take it starting cd2 until cd6.
AF arrived yesterday. My question is: Is today really cd2?
I've heard that cd1 is the first day of full flowing red blood.
My periods are very light to begin with so I find it hard to determine this.
Yesterday's period was "red" but I wouldn't exactly call it "full flowing".
Should i take this as cd1 anyway?
I'm sooooo confused!
We've been trying for a 9months, during which I've probably only ovulated once, and it's taken a lot to be prescribed clomid. It means that I may actualy ovulate this cycle and so be in with a real concrete chance of conceiving . . . I just don't wanna mess it up!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hi i woke up and af had arrived i asked my fs n they said that was cd1 so depends what time your af arrived.

I think I'm gonna go with today as cd2.
I know this is disgusting but, I usually have lots of old brown blood first and that didn't happen this time so I'm just gonna assume that yesterday was cd1 and start my clomid today. Thanks for your help. I think I just needed a sounding board to get it straight in my head.

I started Clomid yesterday (CD2) and my FS had advised that CD1 is classed as the first full day of full flow, so even if full flow started part way through a day, the next day is CD1.

any kind of bleed light or dark is classed as day one, this is what my fertility doc told me

This is my concern, too! This will be my first round of Clomid, and I started yesterday with that brown spotting, and I had also heard that CD 1 is when you first start with the red blood, or an actual "flow". So today I woke up to BLACK blood, which horrified me. I had never had that before! Anyway, it quickly turned to red, so I am counting today as day 1. I am taking 100mg Clomid from CD 4 - 8. I'm not sure why she started me at 100mg, but I won't question it! I also am awaiting diagnosis of PCOS, although I hope they are wrong (

I'm starting with 100mg too....my FS said "50mg only tickles the ovaries" so we are going in with the big guns!

Hi my consultant told me that say cd 2 to ensure it is definately a period. So I would say cd 1 is the first sign of bleeding then take it the next day. I am on my 3rd round had a break in the middle for a lap and dye. I would recommend taking it at night to limit the side effects. I am on 50mg but am going up to 100mg next month if it doesn't work before I have surgery . Good luck to all x
