So I'm not even really sure exactly what lo's issue is but we have a few "symptoms" that are troubling her. She started off on Enfamil's Enfacare (after 2 weeks of pumped breastmilk while in the NICU) because she was a preemie. She was having issues with silent reflux and LOTS of gas. Dr. said since she was gaining weight so well that we could switch to Enfamil's Gentlease. She did a little bit better on that but I'd say the problems only decreased by about 25%.

So, after 2 weeks on it I switched her to Gerber Good Start Gentle. It seemed like she had a lot less gas after about 2 days on it but that the reflux maybe got a bit worse and she would spit up (just normal amounts/frequency but she almost never did it at all before). She's been on it for almost 2 weeks now and does still have significantly less gas, spits up a small (typical) amount a few times a day, but it CRANKY. Not like colic where she can't be consoled, but not content like she used to be and she is doing this weird thing where while she's eating she'll make a face like she's pooing then cry so I take the bottle away but that makes her SCREAM so I give it back and she roots at the nipple like crazy, starts to eat and then cries again after a few seconds  This is ONLY like maybe 2 feedings a day though so I'm wondering if maybe it's just a behavior and not a discomfort related thing.

Anyway, has anyone tried the Good Start Soothe? I believe it has prebiotics in it to aide digestion. They also have the Protect one that has probiotics and I've read on reviews that some people had luck with their tummy troubled lo's doing better on that one. I hate to keep switching her even within the same brand so trying to get as much experience as possible before I do. Thanks!:) Sorry so long.

Hi there. My son has tried many different kinds of formula due to a huge gas problem and vomiting episodes. He would not even eat the Gerber. It was the only one he refused to eat. We tried 3 bottles and gave up on it immediately. He is now on Similac Sensitive which he has been on for a week. I am starting to get worried about constipation since he hasnt been having regular BMs but my husband wants to keep going on this to see if it works itself out. So far, he does seem to have less gas and less vomiting on it so that is great. Just have to hope the constipation stops soon! Good luck!

I don't have any experiene with the gerber formula but I did have a 32 week baby. She had problems with formula/food in general. Due to earliness she had a weaker muscle at her esophagus and was eventually put on prevacid for 2 years. You can try the different formula but it may not make that much difference than the one she is already on. Good luck
