US versus UK terminology

My favorites:

UK biscuit = US cookie
UK mushy peas = US mashed to oblivion peas (Yumminess)

I suppose they are somewhat pregnancy related. :)

Spent a week visiting England/Scotland a few years ago, and Ireland last year. Love love love!

Medication:
paracetamol (UK) = acetaminophen/Tylenol (US)

Americans call trousers pants. As an American in the UK, I've been told pants are undergarments. This explains the look the postman gave me when he delivered a box to me with a customs form declaring "used maternity pants" loudly and proudly. Thanks, Mom! :dohh:

also we cann our US scans and I seem to see you call them ultrasounds :haha:

not pregnancy related but years ago while playing a online game of world of warcraft with some Americans and using mic and earphones I said "be right back just gonna go grab a fag" you can imagin the questions I got :)

Not as much grief as I gave someone on the same game that shouted out "kick her in the fanny" though :)

Ok, going to totally lower the tone, but over here in the UK babies come out of our fannies ;-)

US: Fanny = Arse UK
UK: Fanny = Vagina US
