Any other ladies have this? How have they affected your pregnancy? The doctors assured me they were harmless, but I am just curious. I didn't know I had them until the day I lost my baby.

Hello..... Yes, I have a 5cm fibroid in my uterus and I've had 2 miscarriages.... I'm having a laparoscopy and a hysteroscopy in 2 weeks to see if this fibriod is causing the problems, they will remove it during the procedure if they can, fingers crossed!
Have they offered you further investigations??? I have been under a fertility specialist for the last 2 years so I've had lots of tests to see why I'm having problems.
I hope you get some answers xx

I'm going back to the doctor tomorrow so hopefully she will have more insight. They assured me they were small and nothing to worry about, but I don't know much about it.

I'd like to know more about this too. I have a fibroid on my uterus near my cervix, I think about 6cm though could be slightly smaller. I just had an MRI scan and am anxiously waiting for results. I don't know what they're likely to do but I'm really hoping they'll leave it alone as I really don't want to delay TTC any longer.

The fibroid was discovered in the Spring time. I then got pregnant but had a missed miscarriage which was discovered at my 12 week scan. This turned out to have been a partial molar pregnancy which was/is a whole ball of stress in itself. I'm just finally coming to the end of my wait-time for the molar before we can try again but I'm worried the fibroid will prolong it even further.

I have three small fibroids. One outside of the uterine wall and two in the wall but not changing the internal shape of my uterus. I found out after my second miscarriage. A hysteroscope confirmed that the inside of my uterus maintained a normal shape. My doctor said that it would only be an issue if the pregnancy implanted on the fibroid which could hinder blood flow. His suggestion was to do nothing as he had never, in 30 years, seen a pregnancy implant on a fibroid. I did nothing and had my rainbow baby in May. My doctor was right and yours probably is too. Since finding out I have met women with huge and numerous fibroids that have had successful pregnancies.

Itsawonder, thanks for sharing your story! It is encouraging
:) I have four decent sized fibroids (they have to scan me again to get the exact measurements). They also didn't tell me where they are located and if that would possibly have caused the miscarriage. My obgyn mentioned surgery, but I don't want to have to do that unless it's absolutely necessary. I'm hoping to find ways to reduce them naturally. I go back Thursday for followup and I'm hoping I have all the information I need by then.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one dealing with this. Please keep us posted, ladies!

Good luck! I hope you can avoid surgery but if you need it just remember why you are doing it. The end result will be worth any current discomfort :)
