I am just curious as to what the signs of a uterine infection are?I don't think I have one - I just like to know, for reference.

Thanks.

I didn't have a uterine infection as such - my section wound got infected.

It opened slightly along the incision and started weeping. Called the emergency midwife (it happened late on a weds) and it got sorted out.

I would imagine if it's an internal uterine infection then you'd have to look out for a high temperature, (additional?!) soreness, tender to touch and possible discharge (smelly).

If you have any indication that anything maybe wrong though contact your midwife or doctor straight away. :hugs:

Yeah I don't have any of that but after my surgery nobody informed me of what was normal and what were signs of infection. I was checked 4 days after my surgery at my ob office after the staples were removed and it was healed well so not much was said.

I have the normal lochia still but very light/barely there. I have absolutely no pain and feel pretty normal. But I'm the type of person who likes to be informed on what can happen. Thank you for your reply.

That's good - just continue to take it easy though.

Even though you feel well you've still just had major surgery - so continue to take things slow and rest.

I am, thanks. I know it's going to take months to lose this weight and it sucks. But I guess my health is more important. All ive been doing is walking.

My signs were firstly a low-grade temperature, headaches and feeling of malais. I also had heavier bleeding with clots, and the uterus would keep on contracting painfully during breastfeeding, even a week+ after birth. The quicker you act, the easier it is to treat. So if you're worried, take your temperature every day and act when it rises more than what's normal for you.

Good to know, thanks! Glad I've not got any of those signs.
