I was just wondering if anyone has advice on urinary tract infections.
I have had three since falling pregnant or at least three times I've had classic symptoms including severe bladder pain and feeling like I need to go all the time.
The Doctor puts me on antibiotics and it is much better a few hours later. The only trouble is they always send a sample to the lab and it always comes back as having not been able to grow cultures which I gather means not identify the bacteria which causes it.
The first time the doctor was like oh maybe the sample was contaminated and the second said oh they did find puss so it probably was an infection.
And this time he just looked at me like I was some kind of hypochondriac and shrugged when I asked what else it could be! Which is annoying because before I fell preg I went to the doctor once a year if that.
Any ideas what might be going on as I know these things can cause complications if untreated and im a bit upset the doctor doesnt seem to take me seriously. Think std is unlikely. The only thing I can think is the urine might be poor quality as I had to go so frequently, kind of like when you take a preg test you should do it first thing in the morning.
Or any strategies for dealing with or preventing uti?
