hi all,

Well ive never spoken of this but since i was about 19 (i am now 32) I have had a singular lump (like a skin tag - it is "bobbly" on the inside of the lip of my vagina, i think it might be a wart.

it is not very noticeable (my hair covers it mainly) and it has never spread or done anything.

I have regular smears and they have always come back OK.

I have never even discussed this with my hubby because im too embarrsed but im sure he has noticed it before now.

I am worried that a) it might be an issue during labour or b) that the midwife will point it out during labour and start talkign about it.

I really want a water birth too - but this is putting me off because when its in the water for any length of time it becomes slightly more obvious.

its not a wart hun.
genital warts come and go, they dont hang around for long periods of time as the body will naturally kill it off. the virus that causes then sits in the body dormant for god knows how long and as soon as your immune system is down they attack and become visable, once the immune system is back up the body naturally fights it and they die and fall off.
i would say its a cyst of some sort.
i would go to your doctor as they will be able to remove it and hey presto problem gone no need to worry anymore.
oh and midwives wont pointthings like that out as they are more interested in getting the baby out then what your lady bits actually look like! xx

i know i feel really stupid - but it acts like a wart - yknow when its soaked it goes white ?

it is wierd that ive had it for so long but its never done done anything. maybe i should mention to midwife at my next appt,, oo err

This sounds a lot like what I have on my thighs. My doc said it's molluscum contagiosum, and it is contagious, but mostly found on the trunk, arms and legs. It's not an std, and they can be treated but my doc refused because he said they'd go away. I only have like two and theyre not really a problem. If I were you I wouldnt worry about it. :)

Hun, it could be a bartholins cyst (inside of the labia is the right location for one.....have a hot bath and gently put pressure on it to see if you can get it to burst/rupture slightly. Generally these are caused by hormones and blocked bartholins gland. have you noticed it getting any bigger now your preg? I agree with the other ladies, it doesnt sound like a wart as is always there. I get a wart on the inside of my nose(gross....dont no how...but doc says its common!!) which is very painful, and makes the area inflamed but only comes up when im preg, and slightly immuno supressed. Bartholins can be uncomfortable, but generally you dont notice them until they burst or get really big. Let us know what doc says chick. x x x

I actually have one, just on the outside of my lip... I've had it checked, all clear, my doc told me it's just a skin growth, my OH checks reg to make sure it hasn't grown or anything... I've had it since I was 6, and my doc checks it every few years.. It wont harm the baby i've been told or the birth..

one way to get rid of yourself is quite a commonly used method. get some cotton tie it round it quite tightly and within a couple of weeks the blood flow to it will become cut off and it will die and just drop off. xx

Even though I can tell you are embaressed by it you should bring it up to your midwife before the birth. Just to see what she says. Then maybe after pregnancy you should think about getting it removed so it can stop bothering you! xx

ok quite gross, but have you tried googling for pictures of warts and comparing yours?? may put your mind at rest x
