i am 14. 12 weeks pregnant.
How should I have my child?
What are risks?
Pros and cons?
Trying to be prepared!!

Hi. Congratulations on your pregnancy.

I'm really not sure what your asking. I believe you have your baby naturally unless there is a medical reason to have a ceasarian. It is what your body is made to do.

Unfortunately I have had to go through two ceasars, and let me tell you I would rather have done it naturally any day of the week than go through the recovery of major surgery, especially with a newborn to care for at the same time. My third is due in around four weeks and I'm going for natural again.

Yes, if you are in the UK you will have your child naturally (vaginally) unless there is a medical reason not to.

why have someone slice you open and give you all the risks of major surgery when your body is made to be able to have a baby naturally and its far less risky for you or baby

Unless there is a medical reason to have a section it is better to have a natural birth. Our bodies were made so that we can.
I have experienced an emergency c-section and a natural birth and the whole thing was much better with the natural birth.
C-sections are major surgery and with all surgery there are huge risks which i would never take lightly.

Unless there is a real medical reason, vaginal birth is best for BOTH you and baby! And the experience is life changing. I implore you to take a natural birth class (outside of the hospital) such as Bradley or Brio Birth...at least make an informed decision. Do your research! If you decide to have a c-section, then at least be confident that you know the risk and benefits to BOTH cs and vaginal delivery....but honestly outside of a medical condition, im not sure that CS is ever better....it is major surgery and i think some ppl forget that part.

....that should actually mean vaginally would be a better option then.

I was 21 when i had my first.

all the more reason for a vaginal birth! Trust me, you are far better off going vaginal, unless there is a medical condition.

Def do your research on it!

You'll do fine hon <3

I implore you to read lots of birth stories. Def helped me to watch some videos too.

Thank you :flower:

Hoping for a girl since this is our last one. Of course a healthy baby is the first thing, but i would love to have a daughter.

how about you? are you excited to be a mom?

Yea i was upset when i found out but i gotta make the best outta it.(: Im hoping for a boy.But yes a healthy baby always 1st.
my name choices are...
Girl: Sativa Marie
Boy: Markus Ray
My boyfriend/Baby daddy wants a boy also

Your age has no bearing on your ability to birth your baby - just as your body knows how to grow your baby, so your body knows how to birth your baby. I, like all the other posters, would strongly recommend that you have a natural vaginal birth. :)

A vaginal birth is best not just for you but for the baby as well. Like everybody else had said, unless there is a problem or complication, vaginal birth is the best.

I have had both. I had a vaginal birth at 20 and a c-section at 29.

As far as which birth method is best for you, you need to consult with your midwife/Dr. Being pregnant at such a young age can increase your risk for a c-section (young mothers may have difficulty delivery vaginally because their bodies weren't finished maturing growing) but it doesn't mean you will for SURE need one. In general a vaginal birth has an easier recovery BUT for me this wasn't true. I have had two large babies with very large heads. My first got stuck in the birth canal and I required a forcep delivery (his heartrate was dropping with each contraction and forceps were far faster than a c-section). Because of the circumstances surrounding my vaginal birth (needing an episiotomy and also having a 4th degree tear) my recovery was very hard. My second birth was c-section due to little man being footling breech. His c-section was straight forward and the recovery was not too bad considering I had major abdominal surgery. I was walking around the next day and required very little pain meds.

I would study up on all of your birth options and get a medical opinion on which is best for YOU.
