I am not really sure where to put this but thought here was the best place I could see (feel free to move if wrong), has anyone had a vaginal stitch? I have today been told that alongside pessaries and heparin I will need one. I am so scared and feeling like maybe I should just give up.

If you had it how was it?

Hey hun - I had my second child at 24wks after an emergency stitch which failed because it was already too late. I had a preventative one placed in my third (twin) pregnancy at 12wks, and I have just gven birth to healthy twin boys at 38wks weighing 7Ibs 3 and 8Ibs 13! The stitch worked brilliantly, held in two huge boys, and I would recommend it every time.

Any questions you may have, ask away. A stitch is a minimal procedure which potentially saves your pregnancy - please don't worry x

Lizzie thank you so much for replying. Firstly congratulations on the arrival of your little men :) Fantastic weights and gestation.

My main questions are did you have to stay in hospital over night? Was you sedated or local anaesthetic? What gestation was the stitch put in and removed? Were the dangers of labour with in discussed with you, if so what was said? I particularly worry about that as I labour quite fast, second baby was 1hr 30 mins, third baby was 45 minutes and fourth baby was an induction and I got from closed and high to 6/7cm in an hour or so.

Sorry for all the questions, and again thank you for replying.
