Hi Ladies, I need some help! DH and I are really struggling with naming our little boy. We already have a little man called Jaiden and would quite like another 'J'
So far we have agreed on 'Josh' however I want him to have a proper name and josh to be a nickname- I ideally wanted Joshua but this seems to be a big NO NO in DH eyes. Any suggestions please?!
Thank you x

i'm not sure there are any other derivations of Josh? and if your OH really hates Joshua, if you call him Josh for short everyone will probably assume his full name is Joshua and that might annoy OH anyway?

Don't want to be unhelpful so will suggest some possible other J's instead!

Jake
Jonathan (jonny, jonty, jonno)
John
James (jimmy, jamie)

or you could go for a first name a middle name both beginning with J and call him JJ for short (John Joseph, or Josh Joseph)?

Good luck choosing!
x

I second jacob! i liked it so much its my little boys middle name x

I love Jacob too :D goes really well with your little boy's name too. Don't think there are any other variations of Josh other than Joshua though I'm afraid :(

My friends little boy is called Josua, which she shortens to Joss/Jossy. not sure if that helps?

I know a Josh called Joshvir, I think that's pretty much the only variation.
What about Joshua as a middle name, eg Jacob Joshua, and then just calling him Josh?

Perhaps Joshton? Its madeup but it might help. Sorry Im not sure of any name other then Joshua.

The only one I can think of is Joshua sorry. I also love Jacob :)

You might be able to swing Josh with Josiah?

Another J name I like (but will never use as it's a good friend's husband's name) is Jevan.

Why doesnt he want Joshua? Cant help with any suggestions as I have a Joshua/Josh so like the name.
