Hi ladies, I was wondering if anyone's husband had one of these? My dh was just diagnosed with this last week. We have been ttc for a lonnnnggg time, and have been through ivf ( that's a whole other thread!! ) So looks like he will be getting this fixed soon, and I really really hope this improves his swimmers, his major issues are motility and morphology. Thanks ladies!

Hi,
My hubby had this too, when they told him he had a variococele I was so excited because I thought maybe it wasn't my fault we hadn't concieved and it would all be fixed if he had surgery.

If i remember correctly the Doc said even with the variococele his sperm as 'decent/average' but had slight mobility issues. He had his surgery last year and the sperm testing afterwards showed improvement..

So looking back.. I don't think this alone is the reason why we haven't conceived... but it definitely doesn't help, so I'm glad he got it handled..) But I guess if the case is severe enough it can cause problems... you never know - it could be the culprit in your case! Good luck!

See thats what I keep reading, that it may not really do much, but I figure its worth a shot. I wish it would solve everything, but in reality, I don't really think it will :( Which surgery did your dh get? My doc was telling us about the incision one or the radiation one. We are leaning towards the radiation one. How was your dh's recovery time? Thanks for the info! Im pumping him full of vitamins, hes working out and quitting smoking, or so he says lol, so Im hoping all these things will help, give us some shot of getting pregnant naturally.

He had the incision one...surgery was about 3 hours.. He was out of work for about a week, bed rest for the first couple of days. The procedure isn't too invasive but you have to make sure u have a great doctor who know's what he's doing.. and he has a nasty scar =/ Honestly it can't hurt right? Anything that can increase the chances is worth doing in my opinion. See the reason he had it done wasn't even for fertility benefits (that was a perk) but his balls were in pain whenever he like over exerted himself - so it really needed to go. I don't know though it depends on each individual, if the Dr. tells you guys it's really not necessary and his sperm is decent as it is, it might do you guys no good - I would see what his opinion is honestly.

Oh no his sperm is not good at all, thats why we would be doing it. Wow, out of work that long, my dh is gonna freak!!! Thanks again for the info!
