Hi ladies!
I have had 2 previous csections.
1st was an EMCS the second was elective. My youngest is 16 months old and I would really like to start TTC soon.
I was told by my surgeon who did my last csection that I should wait ATLEAST 5 years before having another baby but I simply dont want to wait that long.
My waters never broke in either pregnancies but I did experience contractions.
My question is ~ Is 16 months too soon to try for a VBA2C? Should I wait the 5 years? If I was too start trying now what are my chances of a succsesful VBAC?
Would love to hear other peoples stories and experiences on the subject!
Thanks! :flower:

From the research and info I have found I would say it wasn't too small a gap no. That's just from being on vbac groups and doing research from my recent birth which I was hoping would be vbac.

However is there a reason why the doctors suggested a 5/year gap?/that seems quite extreme to me ! Usually I see people are told 1year or 18months.

Is it possible there is a reason personal to you that you have been asked to wait so long ?

I'm allowed to try for VBA2C, my youngest is 17 months. I would say 5 years is excessive.

I was told to wait at least 2 years after my 2nd csection because my uterus was thin.

I was supposed to have a VBAC with ds2 (16 months after my first section), but only if I went into labor naturally and before my due date which didn't happen.

Worked out fine for me, almost a two year gap though

5 years?! That sounds so extreme. What was the reason given?

My doctor said 6 months to 1 year.

Only one c section with my second child. Fell pregnant again when he was 6 months old and had an Amazing vbac with very little intervention. I'm UK.x
