Im in a bit of quandry. I really want to have a natural labour this time but if I go overdue, don't relish the thought of being induced and the risks of scar tearing. Midwife has booked my induction already (I would be ten days overdue) but I'm already thinking about having another c section if I haven't gone naturally by then, its so hard to know what to do. Any advice??

Please keep me posted on what you decide. I want a vbac also. I had an ER CSec and trying to go natural..I hope it works out either way.long as mommy and baby are okay..:hugs:

I tried to have a vbac with my 3rd (after 2 prior c-sections) but it didn't work out. I was also overdue and induced and every contraction, my daughter's heartrate dropped precipitously. I also was nervous about the vbac since a woman had lost her baby in that same hospital a month before due to her uterine scar tearing. Before they could get the baby out, it died, though they rushed to do so.

I will say, a scheduled c-section is really easy, in my opinion. A rushed emergency one is much harder, from what people say who have had both.
Go with what you feel safest doing. Since the goal of pregnancy is a healthy baby, the route of delivery that best assures this should be what you choose. After all, it is immaterial whether they were pushed out or surgically delivered...we moms carried them for 9 whole months! The doctors only have a few minutes of work to do!

I'm attempting a VBAC as well. My OB will not induce though as it's not recommended for women who have had a prior C.

My due date is the 22nd and I'm scheduled for a repeat C-Section on the 30th in case I haven't gone into labour. Really hoping I do, but at the end of the day just want a healthy and happy baby regardless of how he comes into this world! :)

My first pregnancy was a c-section, at 34 weeks due to pre-eclampsia.

My second pregnancy was a VBAC, this was an induced labour, ARM and the drip.

My third pregnancy was a VBAC, I was going to have a home birth this time but ended up two weeks overdue, so ended up going in and having ARM, that was all it took and I went into labour on my own.

Don't know if that helps anyone.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I'm hoping for a VBAC too. DS was born by emergency section as he was diagnosed as breech during labour.

My hospital will not do a full induction for a VBAC, the most they will do is have 1 attempt at the gel to get you started. If that doesn't work they will schedule a repeat section at about 10-12 days over.

I really do not want to be induced, I either go naturally and try for my VBAC, or if this LO seems too comfy in there, will have another section. Having had 1 section already, another is not the end of the world and a healthy baby is the most important thing.

I'm having a scan on Tuesday to check if this one is head down, if it is, then fingers crossed I'll get my VBAC.

My first attempt at VBAC was induced and I ended up with an emergency c/s, this time I have been told they will not induce or help labour progress and I have to book a c/s if I go over. I wouldnt go for induction again even if they offered but thats just me.

I was hoping for a VBAC, my daughter was born at 29 weeks by emergency c-section.

But now my blood pressure has slowly creeped up, and every scan throughout has shown baby is breech and seems way too comfy that way I am starting to think I am likely to end up with an elective section, which I am okay with now, was a bit disappointed at first...but I will know more when I talk to my consultant on the 14th.

I think I am too risky a candidate now for a VBAC...

Well u have given me a lot to think about ladies, like u said in the end the safe delivery of the baby is what is most important, I suppose I just want to do it naturally because I didn't bond to well with my first, emergency section probably didnt help and also I hate the fact that u can't drive etc. I have another child to consider in all this, arghhh!!!! wish the consultant would make the decision for me :)

Not sure if this is any help, but with my first I had a emergency section after being induced 3 times and the drip. Second was an elective as son has heart condition and was safest way. I have to say the elective was a totally different experience, very calm and supportive and the recovery was also a lot quicker.
I have also been considering whether to try for a vbac but after some research I think the elective is the safest option for me.
My consultant and midwifes also stressed they would not induce me, due to concern about rupturing.
Good luck with what ever you decide, I know its a hard decision to make.
