Vegetable?

So my husband & I decided on the name Kale Alexander for our son. We were in love with it until people started referring to the vegetable kale every-time we mentioned it. Now I am starting to feel confused and upset that the name we chose is silly/ugly. I just want other opinions on it. What to you all think?

Well it's certainly not "ugly" -- sounds very nice. But does have a strong veggie association -- you've already gotten that alot -- and will probably continue to. And he will probably get that alot through-out his whole life also.

How about Kade Alexander... or Cade or Caiden Alexander?? Kyle Alexander? Kian Alexander?

Caiden Alexander sounds really nice -- nn Cade -- and both names mean strong, masculine, fighter, defender, etc. (and no one will think of vegetables!)

I think the vegetable association is not a bad thing I like it! It's definitely not ugly. Cole/Cade could be a good alternative indeed, but I say a veggie name could be cool, refreshing and green

I have a friend with the name Cale. I did think of the vegetable at first, but once I hung around with him a few times, it didn't occur to me at all. Cale is just Cale.

If you like it, then use the name. It's what you want to name your LO that counts.

I would have never thought of the vegetable when meeting you and your son so I guess it's not everyone lol but I like it and I say if you like it then it doesn't matter what others think I did have a friend with the same name but he spelled it Kayle so maybe that would work for ya!!

i like the name Kale a lot and i like the vegetable Kale too lol... i dont think it matters, loads of names are also the names of nature things and stuff, its fine!

Its not like your naming your son Carrot! I def think you should go for it if you like it! I like it!!! People are going to associate your baby's name with a LOT of things... like my nephew is Corbin... and I was like HUH because the only corbin I know is Corbin Blue... but now its just my nephew ya know! If you let other pople name your baby then your going to end up with a name you don't like!

I never heard the name nor the veggie.

But I do like the name.....Kale Alexander

if you are really worried about it and are thinking of changing it....how about Kaleb (Kale for short). But if you really love the name.....dont change it

(for those who do not know....Kale is a type of cabbage)

Thanks for all your opinions! I feel so much better after reading them! My husband keeps telling me the same thing, "if we like it, thats all that matters". I think I'm going to stick with it. Kale Alexander it is.

Love the name - have seen spelled Cale - that way the sp is not the same as the plant.
