So we thought we were pretty sure on which venue we were going for & had provisionally booked (although lost that date now i think) as deposit was due & we have a tax bill (un-expected) at the end of this month.
The venue that we were going for, was a big manor house, on big grounds, loads of lawn etc. The manor house was where the ceromony would take place so we would be in it all of 20 mins
Then you go somewhere else for the reception/wedding breakfast, nice enough room was thinking of getting it made to look like a marquee (as a marquee is what i wanted).
The manor house then is pretty much not seen unless you go for a wander outside.. This venue has 1 wedding a day & 68 rooms on site (its a de-vere place)
Another venue that was suggested to us again is nice, it is more intamate (no where near as grand on on a large scale as the manor house) very pleasent though although only has 26 rooms & also the cars are right in the ground of the hotel (the downside). The hotel is lovely inside. They will bend over backwards there to give you what you want...
Where the reception/wedding breakfast will be held is already done out like a marquee inside.
Price wise they are going to be on par i think...
It is the room & the car parking situation that is putting me off.. The manor house makes more sense as there are rooms literally on site where alot of people can stay where as with this other one, alot of people who chose to stay are going to have to get taxi's to other hotels. 80% of our guests are travelling to us & alot id imagine will stay up...
Im not to sure what hotels/B&Bs are around near this hotel.. But having to get taxis etc is making me think it could be a mare.
I feel in abit of a nightmare situation of which one to go for. 1 you get the wow factor when you pull up the other one you dont, although it is still nice.
