viability scan

does anybody know what viability scan entails as my gp has made me apt 4 one nxt wk im just wonderin is this norm its been 5 yrs since i had baby n i dnt remember eva been offered 1 so a little worried what they are for and what they look for has any body else had one

I'm not certain but I think they're just looking for a heartbeat apparently if they find one of those then a pregnancy is more likely to be viable. It's not someting they do up here I thought it was more of an american thing! x

Yeah, that's exactly what they look for. Here they call it dates and viability. They check to see if the baby measures close to dates from lmp, and if there's a hb yet if it's strong etc. Normal procedure here, no matter ur age. Nothing to be worried about.

yes mine is at 7wks nxt wk i will keep you posted i presume at 7 wks they should c heartbeat
