Hi,

This has proab been asked a million times but can you use Vicks when pregnant? I ill be 22 weeks pregnant on Sunday and have been suffering with te worse cough ever!!

Anyone used it and it was fine?

Yes you can use vicks vapor rub. My doctor said only that and the saline nasal spray...which didnt really work for me but others swear by it.

I've figured if it makes you fell better then no lol I was always told you couldn't

My friends said I shouldn't use it but I did, I was on bed rest for IVF and coughing like crazy, it freaked me out more to push the embies out than the risk of vicks!
I rubbed some over my chest and back - all turned out fine and it was very early on

Thanks the DH is going to the chemist for me he said he will ask them if its safe hoping it is as honey and lemon water is not working and I can't stomach ginger :-(

Pharmacy might still say no but I still took it when I was absolutely desperate!! I just used a bit less than I normally would and rubbed it on my chest, back and feet! Yes, feet!! Apparently it works, rub it into your feet after a bath or shower then put some bed socks on.
I usually take echinacea for a cold but this is strictly out of bounds when pregnant, can contract your uterus.
Get well soon x

I got told by my midwife to use it with steam inhalation to try and sorted out my stuffy nose and nosebleeds.

I used it when I had a bad cold as just couldn't breath without it x

I used some the day before yesterday. I read the labels carefully first and instruction paper and there was nothing that said it couldn't be used on pregnant women.

My doctor recommended it to me for my cough/cold. She also told me to use it to breathe in steam.

I never actually rub that stuff on my body, but I do put it in my vaporizer. That helps a TON!

Thanks everyone it seems to be working so hopefully I get some sleep tonight :-)
