Hi ladies! I haven't been on here since... well a very long time.
Been ttcing for over a year now...
Anyways, I've been doing quite a bit of research in the past year, and I've ordered some Vitex online. I've heard some good things about it, so I'm excited to be able to try it out myself.

Just wondering if anyone has a success story to share regarding vitex (aka chasteberry)

If not, feel free to ask me questions about how it works :)

This is my first cycle on vitex, but I already see a difference. For a while now, my cycles have been at minimum 60 days (they used to be 35). This month I Od on cd21, meaning at most my cycle is going to be 35 days. For the first time, the signs pointing to O were very clear. It's such a good feeling, I'm starting to feel like a normal person again. So right now, I am waiting for either af to show up or my BFP.

I conceived this cycle on vitex!!

I started it midway through my last cycle as it was super long and I hadn't ovulated. I had an 80 day cycle prior and didn't want to wait that long again. Well it made me O on CD20 (a bit late, but much better than not Oing at all) and brought on AF within a couple of weeks. And then this cycle it made me ovulate and I got pregnant! I highly recommend it as I don't ovulate without something.
I will continue it through the first tri to keep my progesterone levels high. With PCOS generally we have issues with progesterone and I usually spot a few days before AF which is another sign of low progesterone. So I'm confident in my decision to continue with it.

this is a great question and something i've been wondering about too. It's great to hear that vitex worked for you guys! I'm not ttc yet, but I've actually been hoping to try this out. Does it work right away or does it take a few cycles to show improvement? What do you think of taking it in the form of chasteberry tea or do you think capsule form would be more effective?

They say it can take up to 3 months, but many have success before that. I'm not sure about the tea. Depends on how many mg it is I guess. I think people usually take 1200-1600mg/day. Or at least the PCOS studies I read that was the dose. I take 1600/mg.

thanks Kylasbaby, I'm definitely going to try it :)
I'm looking forward to hearing how it works for you, frenchiemenno!

For me it had an effect pretty quickly. My cycles were completely erratic, it could be 5 months, 2 months, never shorter than 45 days though. I took vitex about a week after my cycle started. I ended up Oing on cd20, and my cycle was 32 days long.

I swear by it! I got my BFP my very first month taking Vitex.

Had trouble TTC, low progesterone and wasn't ovulating regularly. Saw a bunch of amazing reviews about Vitex on several different websites so I went to GNC and bought a bottle of the capsules. I took 1000mg/day in the morning from CD6 - CD13 (as well as 2000mg/day EPO) & finally FELT my ovulation pains on CD 12.

Though I can't really say much about it regulating cycles because AF never came for me, it definitely helped bring on ovulation and moved it forward by two days.

The other perk of this herb, for me, was that I did not have any wacky side effects from it.

Good luck & baby dust!

Me too! First full cycle on it and I have those issues as well as I have PCOS. Didn't bring O forward, but it made me O and that's the biggest battle. It all worked out in the end :)

Honestly, It didn't work for me.. Maybe I just have bigger problems. I have really irregular periods. The last time I had a period was last year in November! I recently went to an OBGYN, and that visit was great.

Just don't put all your eggs in one basket like I did.. I was heart broken when it just didn't work. I've been taking Vitex since Janruary. And I am still taking it, hoping that it will help me.
