Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that when someone purchases something off of your registry - it doesn't update the registry and show that the item has been purchased?

It's really frustrating because 1. it's supposed to 2. I can see us getting lots of duplicate gifts because of it.

I even checked the Walmart website and it says "The Gift Registry or Wish List will be updated to reflect your purchase." - but it doesn't!

It will only update it if the person purchasing the item shows the cashier your registry list and that gets scanned. Otherwise, how would the system know that the person bought the item specifically for you?

Agree with the PP. I have my registry at walmart too and it is updated everytime someone buy an item and gives the registry bar code to the cashier so she can scan it!!!

Duh lol I have purchased 3 items directly off our registry with no update or else I wouldn't have even brought it up. So either my registry isn't updating like it should - or nobody has purchased anything off of it && our shower is Saturday. I'm kinda leaning towards an error on Walmarts site rather than NOBODY has purchased anything off the registry except us.

If that's the case you should go to walmart and ask them. My shower is next week and only 4 items purchased. Believe me, people tend to wait until the last moment!!!

Well I know at least 3 people went shopping this past weekend and I know that because they made it a point to tell me lol

I knew I should have went with Target.com for our registry lol

I understand completely if they don't print out the reg and show it to the cashier it won't show bought it also won't print a gift respept, my shower only 2 people bought things off of it the rest was clothing kinda frustrating but then agin it's gifts someone took the time to buy for you so as frustrating as it is not knowing what has been bought try to stay positive

Honestly, alot of people may not being buying off of the registry. I had mine and only 3 people bought off mine. You make a registry so people know what to buy, butttt i dont think people care to look at it. Im not sure why lol

Ugh I know right!? I've had a few people ask me "what do you ya'll need?" and I tell them to go look at the registry and they're like "but what do you NEED" and i"m like GO LOOK AT THE REGISTRY lmao

I only had one person buy one thing off of my registry and it was a baby blanket that went with the nursery theme....and I had about 50 people at my shower.

That whole concept seems crazy to me, cuz I've never went to a shower where I DIDN'T purchase off the registry - they're not made for no reason lol

I always buy off the registry too but less than half of our gifts were off the registry. It's so sad because that IS the stuff I really need. Now I have a huge pile of clothes and stuffed animals that I need to start driving from store to store to try to return.

If it's stuff you can't use then you could always make a one stop shop to Goodwill and donate them. You wouldn't be out anything as they were gifts in the first place

True. I also have 4 friends who are pregnant and due within 2 months of us - 3 are also having boys .. so I could see if it's something one of them could use

Ive been having problems with my babiesrus registry and the online version not updating I had a family friend try to get my pack n play but said when she had them print out the list it wasnt on there but it shows up online on my registry and says it is not purchased. I definitely understand your frustration. My shower is in 3 weeks.

Yeah my mom said this about my Babies R Us registry too. Mine looks like no one has purchased anything. My other one is with Amazon and that also doesn't show any purchases. I wonder if people are using it at all or what.

My Amazon one is fine but I have the same problem with my BRU registry. I purchased my crib in store and brought the registry to the register and everything ... watched him scan it got a gift receipt but it still shows unpurchased...

I'm thinking I need to make the returns so I ave the money to buy the stuff people aren't buying. Not the frilly stuff, but the necessities. Ie the changing pad, glider, baby monitor....

I think the amazon registry works different than the rest. When someone buys something, it doesn't mark it as purchased, it removes it and puts it on a different list. You can view it by going to the top and clicking thank you list.
