 Before anyone says you can't do this because of hot spots etc, is there anyone who actually does heat their LO's bottle up in the micro?
I just did a little test for 20 seconds in the microwave then poured the milk into a bowl and felt the temperature of all the milk properly and it was about room temperature and I didn't feel any hot spots at all(didn't feed any to LO just did a test). I've heard heating in the micro can kill off some of the nutrients though? Surely just 20 seconds can't harm?
I know this is not advised...

I have always done in the microwave. Cant be arsed with fannying around with bowls of hot water. My baby throws tantrums!

I always do it in the microwave for 40 secs and its fine. :)

LOL this is why I am trying to find a quicker way to heat the bottles as boiling the kettle then waiting for the water to warm the bottle, baby has screamed the place down...

I did it all the time

as long as you shake it well i can see the issue !!!

Me too, just shake it well and let it sit for a minute and it should be ok , always has for me

I did it later on, the bottle warmer took to long to warm up those 7 ounce bottles, especially in the middle of the night. I always did it for 1/2 the time I knew I needed it, took it out and shook it, than warmed it up the rest of the way, shook it well again and gave it to her

20 seconds for a 7oz bottle and a good shake=a quiet baby:thumbup: in my house anyway:rofl:

V xxxx

Yep 25 seconds for room temp bottle 5oz in our microwave!!Shake well and your away!!Quicker and happier babys!!!x

Yep we have always used the microwave but we only heat up the water then add formula and shake. I do 20 secs for 6oz bottle. There is no way Ollie would wait for his bottle lol, take care :hugs: XX

even though your using the microwave and shaking the bottle is every bottle microwave safe or are there certain ones?

Yup we do it too.. Got fed up of tripping over jugs of warm water, plus its like 10 times quicker! :D

Wow so many people using the microwave lol. I am putting mine in for 30secs, shaking well, testing then giving it to her, she's a lot happier as it's way quicker.
Also making up feeds in advance, I know now it is advised not to but I use mine from the fridge within 24 hours and I've had no problems at all.

I do the exact same. Make 24hrs worth, store in the fridge, then stick in the microwave for 40 seconds. Never had a problem with it x

i've always done it, boiling the kettle avery 2 hrs cost an absolute fourtune, even my mw said its ok just make sure you shake it

Why don't you heat the water in the microwave, then add the formula after the water is heated?
