Was due 8th june, anyone else want to join me in the waiting game?

Welcome to our Hurry Up and Wait party Danielle! Lol.

Sadly my contractions yesterday and last night ended up being nothing. :( I was really hoping they were the start but nope! Im taking it a lot harder than I thought I would. I haven't had any sweeps yet and MW hasn't offered. But I'm thinking about asking about one when I go back for another NST on Fri (assuming she hasn't come by then which I don't see happening).
Thankfully I'm still feeling good physically I'm just so anxious and restless to finally meet her!

I'm hoping something is moving along for some of you guys!

Hey Danielle, I bet your next sweep will work, sounds like your cervix is ready (unlike mine grrrr). :)
I got really excited earlier, had lower back ache and period pains but its gone now :(
I have my second sweep in two days when I'm 6 days over so I am hopeful still. X

I had that same feeling too sadie. Lower back pain to the point it's hard to breathe and period pain, but I get that once or twice per day and that's it
The doctor told me it's a contraction and it will come faster and more frequent soon. Blah

i was due 4th June. Had my sweep on 5th june and baby came on the 8th june at 2am. Baby Eva Matilda was born at home in the bath after 1 hour of contractions and pretty much no warning! hubby and the paramedics delivered her weighing a healthy 8lb 7oz. pretty amazing experience, altho took me a few days to get over the initial shock of everything happening so quickly! the home birth was not planned! I swear it was the sex that got things started. Hubby and i dtd that evening! good luck ladies...not much longer to wait! xx

Congrats jinglebear!! I tired DTD but it was the most uncomfortable thing in the world and I think it made baby crawl back up a bit :dohh:

I'm still pregnant 40+4 now. My second sweep yesterday hasn't amounted to anything yet even though my cervix is supposedly extremely favourable. Well I did have a big clump of bloody mucous last night but here I am still this morning :growlmad:

Itsme I'm taking it much harder than I thought too. I had a good cry just now when I woke up. I feel like my body is not cooperating and emotionally I'm a mess so I know that's not helping things happen either. I just don't know what to do now.

I'm going to see if I can book in some acupuncture for tomorrow or Monday. Today I'm going to have to re-paint some furniture or something just to have something to take my mind off it.

It's really unlike me to feel so defeated and depressed. I hate his feeling.

Wow jinglebear that's amazing! So quick! Must have been shocking but lovely your husband helped deliver her.

Greenlady it's crap isn't it :( I can't believe I'm 5 days over, really didn't expect it! Do you know when they will induce you? You cervix being favourable is a brilliant sign. Have you thought I using castor oil or cohosh? I think that would be my last resort if I become 2 weeks over due. It's hard to stay positive but just think how soon we'll have our babies! Xx

I dont think I'd go down the castor oil route, I just dont fancy puking and diahrroea on top of labour really! I haven't heard of cohosh, what is it?

I will be induced on the 19th-20th if she's not here by then. My midwife reckons that breaking my waters might be all thats needed, as my cervix is so soft. I would much rather not have to have synthetic hormones.

First I have another sweep sunday (I am writing yesterdays one off as failed unless I go into labour tonight).

I've been out walking twice today and had the breast pump out, done a bunch of cleaning, painted some drawers, had a bath and a lie down. I am going to get a Thai seafood curry for dinner and have some pineapple for dessert. I just dont think any of it does anything really. This lil girly is way too comfortable.

I think the worst bit is my state of mind. I'm hoping something happens before next week because I can feel myself getting a bit depressed and I've never been a depressive person and its horrible. I also am just a bit taken aback because its my second and my first was on time so I wasn't expecting to go late by very much if at all.

H

Yep I won't do castor oil this time! I did with my son and it did work but I can't face puking and horrible poos again. It worked but I would rather wait. Cohosh is a herb which apparently works well, I'm not completely sure about it. I'd much rather take my chances with sweeps!
I feel a little depressed too, it's hard :(. Hope your curry works.
At least if your induced you may avoid the hormones, that's definitely a good thing.
I think I'm refusing jnduction til I'm 42weeks + as I really want my homebirth.

Why are our babies so lazy!!!

Curry was delicious! I doubt anything will happen tonight though.

I really hope you get your home birth Sadie!! Naughty babies!!

Thanks :) it would be really upsetting if baby didn't come because we had one last time so it would feel like a step in the worn direction to have to go to hospital - I've barely considered it!!

Greenlady - I didn't know they can break your water! I would rather not be induce too. Everytime I wake up, I notice I'm still pregnant and I get really depressed about it. I'm really not like that too, I've always been a cheering person. I've been walking twice per day, taking EPO and bouncing on ball but nothing is getting this baby boy into coming out.

Sadie - Castor oil sounds nasty! I went to the pharmacy last weekend and saw it on the shelf, but I'm not that desperate. Never heard of Cohosh.

How you doin Greenlady?

Sadly nothing new to report here this am. I also had Curry last night in my meal and DH and I dtd to hopefully get something moving. Fat chance. Trying so hard to keep telling myself she's just not ready yet but I just want to meet her already.

I'm really hoping this second sweep tomorrow does something. I'll be a little gutted if she tells me my cervix is still pretty much closed.
Been feeling so ill today.

Hello again! Just adding a pic of the new arrival: Eric John H(surname) 6lb 14.5 oz at 40+2 (Logan was also born at 40+2 and 6lb 13 oz!)

Hope you all have your LOs soon, and naturally! I really enjoyed childbirth this time around and a wee bit jealous you will be doing it yourselves hopefully soon :haha:

still no sign on my end...second sweep didn't do a thing for me except for losing more plug. Next appointment is Monday and we'll be talking about inducing on June 21st. I don't know if I can go on for another week.

Oh LogansMum he is precious! I'm so happy for you and insanely jealous of you!

Sadie and Danielle hope things get moving soon. I think I'm going to ask for a sweep at my appointment tomorrow morning. I'm soo tired of waiting for something to happen on its own.

He's adorable Logan's mum! I'm jealous too!

Lets bloody hope these sweeps work!

Bring a pad with you! hehe...my doctor said you can experience some bleeding or spotting after. I didn't but you never know right? So make sure you put one after. I honestly think that the sweep help with losing plug and dilating. I was 2cm last week and on Monday I was 3cm. Good luck! I hope it will be a successful one.

Oh thanks for that tip! I'll definitely be sure to wear a pad. I experienced quite a bit of brown spotting after my internal exam on Tuesday so I would imagine that I would after a sweep as well.

I had some contractions earlier, they definitely were because I recognise them. It was late my DH got home from work and I thought it was all going to start but they weren't strong or regular so I lay down to snooze and they fizzled out  it's 3am now and I'm using my breast pump downstairs trying to get myself going because that's how it started.

Oh I think I just had one. Just so mild and pathetic I don't think it's going to ramp up at this rate. What a tease.

My body is so trying to do something. I just can't work out what the holdup is.

Oh! It's coming! You're body is definitely trying to do something. Come on baby come out :wohoo:

A friend of mine told me to wash the floors on all fours, I'm currently trying to do it but need a break
