Wash liquid to make white cothes actually white!

my oh does our washing lol and his whites are always lovely.

always wash at a high temp, we also use vanish powder with our non bio powder and liquid.
he also puts stuff thats not got whiter in the wash in watered down bleach for about 15 mins and that always works

i wash at 40 but only use powder and softner. Might try some vanish x

Hang them in the sun when it comes out as it bleaches them, it really works as well.

We use Daz and it seems to work really well, but I also wash most things (apart from delicates) on a 90 wash so reckon that helps as well

I thought it did and thats why i was at 40 xxx

I have been using Ariel Actilift (sp) for my clothes just recently and my whites seem much brighter than usual xx

We had that ariel actilift on offer at work and was going to try that.

I've never had anything shrink, hehe but maybe i'm lucky. Think as long as you check the label it'll be fine.

Ive always used 40, or 50 now and again for whites. Never more than that - scared of shrinking!

Soda crystals! Just add it in with the powder and it works wonders. Or, if something's especially grubby (like a white vest that's snuck in with the dark wash) soak it in a bucket of hot water and crystals and it brightens right up again. A huge bottle only costs about a pound

crushed asprin is supposed to be good
I just use bleach in the machine and loadsa fabric conditioner and powder to get the smell out!!

I always have the same problem, never white.

I used Ariel Stain Remover White Powder on DH white shirts fot the first time the other day and was really impressed. White washes are such a pain.

whites need a high temp, we wash them on 60, does a better job

We wash everything on 60, with vanish oxi action for whites, and they are glowing. x

I think once the original crisp whiteness goes in clothing you can never really get it back again. But to stop the whites getting stains I use a scoop of Oxyclean in the wash and biological powder. However on LO's clothes I have to use non bio to prevent skin irritation.

I dyed all my whites pink yesterday.

Katies hat went in the washer by mistake and the whole lot looked like Strawberry Angel Delight.

I spent all last night bleaching them in hot water, worked a treat.

Did you get yours white.

Bleach into the bit where you put the powder, OH has to use it on his chef white's so i usually chuck my white tops in with them
