water!!

i've been reading alot of people giving upto 3oz water a day.

well Rhys is eating 4oz milk bottle roughly every 3 hrs, now should i give water before, during or after feeds or in between?,
i been trying in between but he literally screws his face up whenever i try its like i was giving him in sulphric acid or something had the bottom lip sulk as well lol as though i were doing something major wrong haha.

is it really nessersary he's on number 2 milk and doesnt ever get constipated, he has maybe 1/4 oz water twice day if that. he just rather have milk and compared to some other babies he only has 4 oz milk bottles but he's never ever sick and is bang on with weight gain.

I didn't know you were supposed to give babies water as well as milk as long as they have plenty of milk I don't think you do.

I only ever gave Lewis water if he was constipated and when we started weaning him.

If what you're doing works for you and he has plenty of fluids, I wouldn't worry about trying to get him drink water.

I've never given Alex water, but might ask about it as he takes a lot of milk 6oz with every bottle

i offer harry water when he has been dribbling excessively with teething. He has a few gulps but not 3oz

no wonder he wont drink it, he obviously isnt thirsty.
thats my stupid mil banging on again i'll never learn wiill i she talks crap most the time so was another gripe at me.

Daisy hates water and always has!! I didnt start giving her juice til she was about 4 months though, don't think they need it unless they are constipated or being really sick xxx

the hv recommended water to me as archie(and my others) are ff she said that his milk is a food and he still needs the odd bit of pure fluid...i only offer him 1 3oz bottle a day in the evening around 2 hours before his next feed is due..sometimes he only has 1/2 oz others he will have the whole lot

i tend to offer it iin the evening as this is when hes most coolicky i also offer it warmed up and it seems to get rid of any wind he has and the colicky bellyache

i dont think it harms them not to have it though

We only started giving Hannah water once she was weaned. She never had any constipation issues (except for the first time I gave her cheese--but that was well into weaning )

I give Rosie 3 oz every other day and she likes it, she is on number 2 milk and has been a bit constipated so i like to give her it and she seems to enjoy it x

My mw has told me to give Phoebe a bit of water before each feed as she is FF.

Never gave mine water, but they were breastfed. Is it to reduce constipation issues!

Jack loves the stuff hehe we give it him when he starts munching his hands between feeds.
