I've had some really watery discharge lately. On Saturday I had a mini-gush of pinkish/brown when I got up, then another one a bit later, then it continued to lighten up to a brownish/yellow throughout the day. It wasn't a constant trickle but happened every now and again. On Sunday I had a little bit more, so I called and was sent to L&D. They did a swab and said no presence of amniotic fluid (although I hadn't had any discharge for an hour or two at that point).

Then today I had another mini-gush (maybe nickel-sized on my underwear) of the pinkish/brown stuff, and another few occurrences today. Called the doctor, and he said not to worry as long as everything else is fine (baby moving, no fever, etc).

But what the heck is this stuff? It's not my mucus plug (no mucus - just clear fluids), and it's not blood (I've had spotting throughout the pregnancy and know what that looks like). I really wish I had asked for a cervical exam when I was at the hospital (or when I was at my 34 week appt on Tuesday, duhrr). Has anyone else had something similar?

I had the SAME thing happen to me over the weekend...
and i too received no answers.
ive been stressing about this like crazy... it hasnt happened for a few days, so im finally starting to calm down about it.

I've had it too.. I just had an internal exam on Wednesday though. I've been wearing panty liners.. and it's a very liquidy pink-ish brown color.

If u had an internal exam, probably just spotting from an irritated cervix. With that being said... If you've had sex it could be that too. However, it could be nothing.. JUst monitor it if ur worried head down to labor and delivery.

If it happens again, head back in and if they test it and say it isn't amniotic fluid ask what the heck it is then. When my water broke at term with my daughter, it was a few small gushes. I thought I had peed! Her head was acting like a cork so it wasn't steady, but if I laid down, some would trickle out. If I was standing and bent over, some would trickle out. If you go back in, I'd ask if they can check you for dilation as well.

Good to know that it's happened to others, I guess. Although nothing's been in my hooha in months! I did have a little bit of spotting this morning, so maybe the watery stuff was just a precursor to the spotting?
