WDYT when you hear...

...the name, Branson? I thought of it the other day and it struck me that it'd be a great boy name and a little more traditional like my hubby likes. So what does it sound like to you? Hopefully positives... Haha 😄

It kind of sounds made up to me and doesn't strike me as traditional at all. Sorry. Not sure if it's been more common elsewhere but where I am I've definitely never heard of it before.

It sounds like a country singer's name to me for some reason.

Oh, well ok then haha. The only place I've heard it is it was a last name on the show Downton Abby but not really where I got it from I guess. It was actually a street name that I read wrong the first time and thought it said Branson when actually it was Brabson st.

There is a city nearby named Branson, MO and they are known for their large theme park and as being a touristy place...it reminds me of that. What if you changed the spelling to Bransen?

I also think Branson, MO but lots of people are named after cities (Brooklyn, London etc) so if you like it than go for it!

My first thought was Branston pickle, second thought Richard Branson. It isn't an obvious first name to me, but I'm in the UK and I know names here and in the US can really differ.

I quite like it! It's a bit like Brandon, but less common. It sounds like a last name, maybe because of Richard Branson but still, he's not an important figure I find, so I don't see it as a big deal. It's a pretty neutral association!
