I had my final appointment with the hospital last week to see if they could find any other reason other than my fall to see why Beau died.

The doctor told me that although she can't be certain but she thinks that the placenta was weak before my fall. There was a large amount of damage to the placenta and areas of blood clots that she didn't think could have all been caused by a fall.

So she's concluded that the placenta was abnormal and it may have been, even if I hadn't fell, that Beau would have died later on in pregnancy as he demanded more life support from it.

I was then given his photos, which I still haven't looked at and his birth book with a lock of his hair inside.

I've been told that when (if) I get pregnant again I will have very regular scans throughout to monitor the baby's growth very carefully. She also gave me her number for if I get a BFP to arrange an early scan. So it looks like next time I will be very well looked after and hopefully (fingers crossed) it will not happen again.

I dont know what to say, just wanted to offer :hugs:

Hi Sue :hugs:

Im glad the doctors have managed to put your mind at rest chick & you feel a bit more reassured about your next pregnancy.

I know you've been beating yourself up about the fall even tho there's nothing you could've done to stop it but at least you know that none of this could've been prevented.

Losing Beau will always be painful for you but I hope having this knowledge gives you a little comfort :hugs:

I hope this hasn't come across wrong babe... if you want to talk just PM me anytime xx

It must be reassuring to know theyll look after you closely next time hun.

I cant imagine what youve been through, big hugs. :hugs:

How comforting to get a little more information to help you deal with your tragic loss. I remember when I lost my Mum needing to know the results of the autopsy. It was a longing need and as soon as I got them, I felt a sense of relief. Even to this day that knowledge helps me deal with my loss and although it still hurts, I feel like I can cope with it better by understanding just a fragment of the reason she is gone.

I hope you feel something like this too, especially when your fall appeared to the major contributing factor whereas now you understand that there were other complications that are quite possibly the answer to why your little angel didn't make it.

I have said it before and will say it again that you are truly an inspiration to all women and from your written word, your photograph and your personality that shines through your posts, you will please God be an amazing mother. Let's hope it's some day soon.

I am not sure what to say to you, I cannot even begin to imagine all that you have been through.
I hope that you will be blessed with some happiness very soon. You are a very special person.
:hugs:
