I had my final appointment with the hospital last week to see if they could find any other reason other than my fall to see why Beau died.
The doctor told me that although she can't be certain but she thinks that the placenta was weak before my fall. There was a large amount of damage to the placenta and areas of blood clots that she didn't think could have all been caused by a fall.
So she's concluded that the placenta was abnormal and it may have been, even if I hadn't fell, that Beau would have died later on in pregnancy as he demanded more life support from it.
I was then given his photos, which I still haven't looked at and his birth book with a lock of his hair inside.
I've been told that when (if) I get pregnant again I will have very regular scans throughout to monitor the baby's growth very carefully. She also gave me her number for if I get a BFP to arrange an early scan. So it looks like next time I will be very well looked after and hopefully (fingers crossed) it will not happen again.
