Weaning an 18 month old

So she's almost entirely weaned; there's hardly any milk left and she's down to a feed when she wakes 3 days a week. Occasionally she'll feed at other times but not often. But if I refuse this final 'feed' or cut her off early she goes nuts.

Basically we night weaned a few weeks back - which she actually took quite well. And I work a 4 day week, when I work I leave the house before she gets up so she has a cup of cows milk in bed with Daddy. The 3 days I'm home she demands mummy milk and then the cup of cows milk. Yesterday I had a stomach bug and suddenly had to go to the bathroom so took her off the boob. Took my husband 5 mins to console her.

Is there a nice way to drop this final feed or do I have to just deal with the tantrum??
