Hi my 7 month old isn't too keen on many foods so far, we started at 5 months but it was an on off process as he refused solids during colds so would have a couple of days where he would eat very little solids or none at all. Then he had to go in hospital with bronchiolitis in the new yr so didn't have solids for about a week. so we've been out if hospital for a week now and trying to get back on track, but he dosnt seem to interested. There's a few foods he will eat and opens his mouth for them an eats nicely, he likes cauliflower cheese or mash potatoe an cheese and his fruity cow and gate porridge, he liked bns an pear but seems off that now and sweet potatoe and apple too. I've tried his with something new today but he dosnt seem to like the taste, it was red pellet sweet corn and cauliflower with cheese. when he dosnt want something he either didn't open his mouth, acts disinterested or try's to grab the spoon an play.
I've bin trying him with finger foods to see if he wants to do it himself but he just plays with it. although just now I sat down with a sandwiches and gave him some bread and butter as he watches me and seems to want it, he put the bread to his mouth but think he was really trying to get to his thumb! Lol but he did taste it and didn't seem either for it against it really! Dropped it and put his thumb back in his mouth!
So he not eating very much solids at the moment but sometimes, like the other night had a 7oz bottle every 2hrs over 6hrs so obviously is hungry. I don't know what to do, it was straight forward with my first! if I continue with the finger foods how long about is it until
They stop playing and start eating? I think all I can do is keep trying and hope I find a few more things he likes, but has anyone been in this situation, what did you do? Thanks
