Hello, I am 9 weeks and started wearing maternity pants a few days ago. my normal pants are way too tight around the waist and they are causing me to have heartburn and nausea. I cant tell if I am showing or if its just bloat, but I am definently bigger in my mid section now. I have lost 6 lbs due to vomiting, but my stomach is way bigger than it was few weeks ago. Is this normal? this is my first pregnancy. a girlfriend of mine said she iddnt start showing till 18 weeks. But I feel like I am showing a little pooch already at 9 weeks. anyone in the same boat?

I was showing at 10 weeks with my last pregnancy... so no, you're not too early!! Even if a lot of it is bloat. Wear that bump with pride!! I am only 6.5 weeks and I'm using the rubberbad trick. I'm military and the uniforms don't stretch AT ALL. And to buy another uniform is expensive!! I'll try to hold out as long as possible before I get my maternity uniform though.

I'm 9 weeks with my first and also had to use rubberbands this morning to hold my pants up! Don't feel bad - you're definitely NOT alone!

I am 8 weeks and my underwear etc are getting tight and I have also lost 6 pounds in the past 2 weeks from throwing up or not wanting any food to pass my lips. I just don't see how it can be bloating. Everyone is different, with my first pregnancy who is 11 now, the doctor thought maybe he missed a baby in there because my fundus was so high or large. I had only gained 12 pounds through that pregnancy which came back off at delivery. Son was over 8 pounds plus the water and placenta etc. I lost weight through out my body but my belly was huge. My stretch marks even went in a circle on my tummy rather then the normal up and down ones I normally see from friends and family. Anyway, my point is everyone is different and not many people fit the "norm" at least I sure don't :) Be proud of your baby bump and happy to go maternity shopping! At least you'll get your money's worth. Some people have to wait a long time to wear materinty clothes.

I'm only 5 weeks but have so much bloat I look 6 months :-( going to break out the bump bands soon!!

I'm the same, none of my trousers fit; I use the bump band with them all!

I seem to have popped over night. I'm really concerned I might be having twins lol I look so huge. It might just be my size though as I'm really petite.

People have started to look at my belly and I know they're wondering! Chubby chubbs or pregnant!

Nah go ahead and wear them. I had to wear them at 8 or 9 weeks and then the bloat went way down and now im back in normal clothes and getting an actual bump. Go for comfort, then you'll fart and be even more comfy!

This is new to you? I've been using rubberbands for my pants for the last two weeks!! I can't fit ANY of my work pants, and you know how every woman has her "fat" jeans? Well...mine no longer fit. Just check out my belly pic from 7+6 (I'm 8+3 now) and you'll understand.

The nurse told me part of the reason I've gotten so big is that my uterus is tilted back...so whilst it fills with baby, its pushing intestines forward and up, instead of just up.

I've been in maternity stuff for a week now and this is my first. I'm not down with trying to squeeze my bloated self into regular pants if it's not comfortable....

AH HA!!! Maybe that's why I feel so huge, too!!? I also have a tilted uterus!

I think I have a tilted uterus to I always have to have internal scans cause they are always saying they can't get a clear picture cause my other bits are in the way, until I get further on. Maybe that's why I have a bump and my jeans are getting tight

Me too! I'm 10 weeks tomorrow and have been in maternity pants for 3 weeks alreay. Will try and post a pic. I think I look bigger as a I have big boobs!
I haven't lost weight but am the same as before I was pregnant. I'm eating for England to stave off the bad nausea but if I'm sick, it's never very much.
Is how your cervix is lying related to where your uterus is pointing? I was told my cervix was tilting backwards when I was in labour with DD1. They had trouble doing the internal exams.

My scan was done internally...I had pre-warned her and told her, "Last time they couldn't see it through my stomach, so you'll probably have to use the wand thingy..."

Yes, I said wand thingy.

I'm just at seven weeks and so bloated that all of my work pants hurt to wear. Unfortunately I can't wear my stretchy comfortable yoga pants to work and this morning DH looked at me while I was putting my pants on and said, "I think you need maternity pants, that looks very uncomfortable". Right now its a toss up between my pride and maternity pants or having an atrocious muffin top and squeezing into a very uncomfortable size 2. UGH.

i feel huge my midwife said cause its my second baby i will show alot earlier cause my body knows what its doing so it wil do it with out stretching it so much i cant wear jeans i live in my leggings atm they are the most comfiest thing atm haha and with my son i was showing at 12 weeks too due to a condition i have where i carry 3 times the amount of water a normal woman in pregnancy would so at 5 months i looked about 9 and was gonna pop haha wear your bump or bloat with pride i do even tho i feel fat haha

I'm 11 weeks and plan buying maternity jeans this weekend. The only reason I haven't already is because I had one pair of jeans that were a size or two too big that I'd hung onto for just this reason. Now they're starting to feel tight. Also, wearing the same pair of jeans every day is not a good idea.

LOL Lilly! Have you tried the rubber band trick? I tell you, it works wonders! I would not have fit in my pants yesterday without it!

No!!! What's the rubberband trick? My pants have those weird metal hooks that close them right above the zipper.
