Finally went to get some maternity clothes- the elastic band and belly band werent cutting it anymore. I thought clothes shopping would suck less when you were SUPPOSED to have a belly?

I was completly unpreared for the cellulite running from butt to knee on the back of my thigh! When did that get there!? Ive always been fairly slim and athletic, and am right on with my weight gain per my OB. What the heck!!

Awww. I think when you are smaller you have to pack on a bit more chunk to carry the extra weight of a LO. I joke that with my pregnancy my butt seems to start running into my legs so you don't know where my legs stop and bum start. LOL The good news is that you can probably quite easily get back into shape after baby is born.
Did you at least find a few comfortable and/or cute things?

I got some cute tank tops that I can probably wear after she's born too...Im so cheap, I cant bear to spend money on stuff that's just for a certain phase in my life! My whole point in going in was to get shorts but I just couldnt buy them, I was so discouraged!

I don't know if you have a Burlington coat factory near you but I have bought a few sundresses from there, each for less than $15 a piece. They are comfy and nice to have in this hotter weather. Plus you could always wear them when you aren't pregnant.

Oh, and I just buy the Wal-Mart cheapy tanks for about $3 they seem to do just as well as the pricey maternity ones.

I felt the same way after going shopping last weekend. There were some really cute things but I'm not going to pay $80 for a skirt or dress that I will only wear for a short period of time. I will have check out our Burlington store. I have to wear business casual and i'm really not looking forward to having to spend $$$ on a temporary whole new wardrobe.

My booty was the first to get large. It really sucks because that is where I got all my stretchmarks. I am not complaining about not getting them on my belly, but I can't wear shorts or anything anymore without feeling self conscious because of my thighs and butt getting rather large. :/

During my first pregnancy I started out with an athletic body which is why I think I ended up gaining 60lbs, and yes I saw my butt expand and cellulite explode. Not saying this will be you, but this time around I am staying a lot more active and not giving into cravings and I think it's totally helping! I am avoiding the whole "eating for two" mentality as much as possible!

I read somewhere that "eating for two" doesn't actually come into play until the third trimester, and even then it's only an extra 300 calories a day, which is the equivalent of of a poached egg on toast. It always amazes me that you don't need that much extra in order to grow a whole baby.. a woman's body is an amazing thing!
