Hiya...similar situation as you...not married, he's on the BC, long story why we split up but basically he didnt want a baby.

When I was pregnant we basically said that whilst I was on mat leave we would just sort things as and when it suited us both but about once every 2 weeks. He came to the hospital to see her straight away, next was when she was 2 week, then 3 weeks - so 3 times in 3 weeks but he hasn't been since. She's 7 weeks tomorrow.

He was supposed to come monday but then said he couldnt (didnt get a reason), then he said he'd come this saturday but already he has said he cant and isnt free til the sat after! So god knows??!! Luckily she doesnt have a clue who he is so isnt being bothered by being let down.

If I was you I'd say once a week since your son has probably got a bond? But let him do the travelling. See how long he can keep it up for. Good luck xx

Rob's on Josh's BC cause we were married. So far it's every Saturday from about 1pm to 5.30pm-ish. It's only that long because it takes about 3 hours to travel by train. Rob currently lives in Rotherham with his parents and I live with mine near Newark (which is near Lincoln) so at least he's making the effort, even if he's scraping the bottom of the barrel for money.

After we've been to the courts (god knows when that will be) I don't know how often it will be

He hasn't made any maintanance payments at all, paid nothing towards her, he hasn't seen her once sine she was born (despite me asking him to) - so when he wants to see her and can be bothered to stick to a plan then probably about once a month i would let him (he lives 3 hours away so i know he wouldnt be willing to do more than that)
