That potty is so cool!!!!

I'll have to get one for Evie

I was wondering the same thing as my mum thought Evies bumbo was a potty and thought we were potty training her already lol
xx

my mum potty trained me when i was 10 months old!! i didnt believe her when she told me until i saw the HV had written it in my baby book lol didnt know it was possible so early...

but i think i'll wait until Callum is about 18 months - 2 years as i don't want to rush him when he's not ready as he may revert and start having accidents etc..

It's hard to say. I'm gonna wait for Jed to show signs he is ready. We did this for our 1st boy and it worked really well. He was around 2 and a half and trained in a week. We tried way too early for our 2nd son (18 months) and he had really bad issues with making a pooh and ended up with chronic constipation even until he was much older. I feel if we had waited it probably wouldn't have happened. For Jed we will definately wait until we are sure he is ready.

I forget with dd1 but dd2 was 22months when she got the hang of it so I'm thinking about 20 months. Some kids get the hang of it earlier than others but few babies will be ready before 18 months physically, cognitively and emotionally. I generally just watch for a window of opportunity and mak potty training fun. Nothing like a lot of daft adults doing the potty dance over LOs first pee/poo

Our boys were around 18 months and totally dry by around 2 years old day & night

ALL kids are different though :)

I did it at 18 months with my 2 girls, I set one week a side, and said this is the week, I barely left the house cause, i took the nappy off the min they got up in the morning, and didnt put it on till they were going back to bed. There was lots of accidents but by the end of the week they had got the hang of it, and by 2 years they were totally out of nappies, day & night. This worked for us, so i will be doing the sasme with my ds...

I started putting my son on the potty at 3 months old...not all the time, but after naps, when I know he is going to pee, i take him and sit him on it, and when he goes I praise him. I dont thinkhe quite understands yet....but I am hoping to have him out of diapers by a year. And just this little bit to start with I am hoping he knows later on that, ok, this is to pee/poo in...make sense? I might be loonie too though haha

Nathan was 3 in March 2009, started potty training April 2009 - after 2 weeks all wees and poos were in the pot! no accidents. He then was dry at night 3 months later. He never had a poop accident ever!

Ive always waited until they were way over 2 and never had any accidents from day 1. Ellis is 2 and 7 months and i havent even started her yet. As long as shes out of them before she starts nursery next september, thats good enough for me

We started Lottie at 2 years 5months, she wasn't ready before then as the month before i tried her without a nappy in the appartment on holiday and she didn't get it! When we did it she got it in 2 days, no potty, straight on the toilet, she was out of nappies at night the week after! I strongly believe in waiting until they show signs, we had no stress, upset and very few accidents and it we found it really easy! I will definately be waiting until Harry is ready himself :flower: xx

3months? i didnt think they even had control over there weeing and pooing at that age,
i personally think that is waay too young! :flower:

we were thinking of getting jesse a potty after christmas when hes about 18months, i wont pressure him though i think we will just extend nappy free time and slowly teach him potty is were you pee, as long as hes ready for nursery im fine xx

Whenever he's ready, probably over the summer after he's 2  - Every child is different though. My next door neighbour had her 3 boys in nappies until they were over 3, then one day they just asked to not be in nappies anymore.

This is a complete diffrent question but when potty training a boy do u train them to stand or sit down when taking a pee?? Sorry I just really don't know x

thanx girls xx. ok so maybe i did buy it alittle early then hehe. but it doesnt cost anything storing it away till shes old enough. ive had a highchair and walker in the attic i bought when she was 2 weeks old hehe. i just like to be prepered lol

No harm in being prepared. You won't need to buy it when the time comes, you can just whip it out the attic

we started sitting Rebecca on the potty when she was about 5 months during nappy changes, now she is 11 months we are guaranteed a pee on it everytime and we have started to get poos on it too at least once a day....beats cleaning it off her when it happens in the nappy. She seems quite happy sitting on it and we have never forced her at any time.

Sit them down on it. They start to stand up when they get more used to it!
