What are my chances now??

Had egg collection yesterday and got 12 eggs. 7 were suitable for injection but only 1 has fertilised. I was due for single embryo transfer anyway but what are my chances of this little embie dividing?

Am wondering if I'll get to egg collection on Thurdsay???

Hi,

I had IVF/ICSI In nov, i had 20 egg collected and 11 fertilised, on day of egg transfer only 2 was ok, i had both put back in and 1 took and i became pregnant - unfortanally i had a MMC two weeks ago at 11 weeks but my IVF did work i was told my embroys was cell 7's and grade 3 out of 4 - 4 been the best..... BUT I have a buddie on another site she had two transfered same day heres was only cell 2's and grade one, one been the lowest .....However one of her embroys split and she is now experting triplets and going well it just shows anything can happen,

Littlemo I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Can't even imagine how you must feel. Puts things into perspective for me and I shouldn't give up yet...

My big concern is the phone call in the morning to let me know if the number of cells have increased. As far as I knoe they are supposed to double every 16-18 hours. Just with a low fertilisation rate (1 out of 7) I'm worried this won't happen. But Im a determined person, hope the little embie is too!!!!

Have they gave u a date for the transfer ? i was really impatient i had my collection on the wednesday and the transfer on the saturday as they wanted to see how much it would split etc i wanted it done every day i was phoning asking was they ok and can i have it done yet...fingers crossed its all worth the wait x

Embryo transfer will be on Thursday if the cells multiply/ split. Think its a no go if they dont

Thanks Maz, such a disappointing result when everything had been going so well. Have been up since 4:30 am. Rang Origin there and the embryologist is in a meeting. So am still waiting to hear. Can't help thinking if it was good news they'd have rang me already....

Origin rang to say that our little lovely is now up to five cells!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No grade yet, they'll let us know that tomorrow. Transfer is at 2 o'clock tomorrow. We are delighted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still might get that BFP afterall!!!!!!!!!!

Well ladies I'm home and feeling great. Our little embryo is Grade 1 (1 being the top grade) and 9 cell. We are just delighted!! The embryologist said it is "perfect". Could have cried!!! Apparently only 20% of embies get the top grade. So although we only had one it was a good one!!

Let's hope it likes its new home and "sticks" around!! Here begins the 2WW!!!
