I've been reading up on all the restlessness or fatigue, morning sickness, sore muscles, lack of/rage of hunger, and etc and was curious what kind of things you bought that saved you during your pregnancy.

If something works for morning sickness, I definetly want to invest in it and hopefully prevent it. I'm already starting to get slightly sick in the mornings.
[Not to mention I puke very very easily, and don't wanna throw up whatever I do eat  ]

So any ideas? Pillows? Clothing? Foods? Vitamins?

The preggie pop drops really helped me during first tri. i was constantly nauseaous. and pepcid for heartburn that has saved me a few times.

The only thing which eased my morning sickness was Lucozade, its high in sugar so try not to over do it mind :) x

Apple tango really helped me. & plain jacket potatoes.

Also mints!

I don't know what a lot of these things are, haha. Do they sell them in the US? What are they like? I've seen the preggie pops and am thinking about getting them as well. Also, if I'm prone for stretch marks when should I start using stretch mark lotion?

Lucozade, plain crackers and soup was all I ate for months!!! Later on in my pregnancy, maternity tracksuit pants, ice poles, moisturiser that was kept in the fridge, and chocolate brownies!!

More of a tip really but if the smell of perfume doesnt make you feel sick then make sure you wear it or keep a tissue sprayed with it for moments when smells make you feel sick,

i'd walk past food places and be sick at the smell of them but if i had perfume handy to smell it made it more bearable

and also i'd say it's never too early to start using creams and stuff, keeps your skin nice and smooth if anything

Oh also, magicool spray has totaly saved my puffy feet and ankles! Really helps if I've been walking alot. And I have to agree with leonie, a little of your face perfume on your sleve is really helpfuly for the times when a horrible smell hits you! Xx

If you get morning sickness really bad go and see your doctor as i ended up in hospital on a drip as id got dehydrated and they put me on tablets to put the sickness and they told me if id gone to the doctors when my sickness had started getting really bad i wouldnt have ended up in hospital as my doctor could have given me the tablets. Also i didnt bother buying maternity clothes, tbh i didnt get that big anyway and i was still in size 8 jeans by time i had connor but for tops i just bought normal size tops in a bigger size as its so much cheaper

Mints and lemonade were pretty much all I could stomach first thing in the morning whilst I had morning sickness (bad I know!) I used to try and munch on plain biscuits or crackers before work and that did help. Trying to eat little and often aswell, I fet sick all day so eating small amounts often helped too.
For aching in pregnancy, a pregnancy or nursing pillow really helped me get comfy in bed helped to stop my ribs and back from killing and now it's really useful for feeding LO in the night and getting me and her comfy. I got mine off ebay really cheap.

the only thing that eased my sickness was going for a long walk in the fresh air..
no foods or drinks really done it:(x

The only thing that helped me with morning sickness was ginger biscuits.. Rich tea biscuits and plenty of water!! Also the tiredness did get to me alot aswell but wasn't too bad in the first/second tri.. But as soon as I hit the third tri it hit me like a brick wall!! I found it helped to sleep when I was tired no matter what time of day it is.. Even if it's only for half an hour it makes the world of difference.

Also when you're bump starts weighing you down I'd really recommend a pillow between you're legs at night and a wedge shaped pillow under you're bump.. Oh and if you suffer with heartburn (You might be lucky enough to get away with it though) try to sleep higher up!!

Congratulations on your pregnancy!! :happydance:

For morning sickness, eat as soon as you get up. Like riiiight after you get up lol! You could keep crackers on your bed stand, or a cereal bar. If I got up and it took me more than 10 minutes to grab a bite to eat I'd be throwing up. If I ate a little something I wouldn't get sick that morning or feel weak.

Other food things, eat what you crave (so long as it's safe), cause you crave it for a reason! If you want meat or greasy food (things that are hard to digest), for sure eat it but don't eat too much. Because when I had too much of those foods I almost always threw them up in the 1st trimester.

I didn't need any new clothes until about 18 weeks so I think you're okay on clothes for now. Good luck with your pregnancy! :hugs:

Oh and personally I wouldn't bother with maternity clothes at all! I've got through all this pregnancy with only 2 maternity tops and that's only because I liked the slogan on one of them and I was given another one as a gift.. There not something you can wear after you've had the baby because the tops are obviously made to accommodate a bump and will just hang off you when the bump is gone and the trousers obviously the same thing.

With trousers I've just tied 2 hair bands together and linked them through the button hole and on to the button.. And tops I've just brought a size or 2 bigger... It's alot cheaper to do it that way aswell.. Maternity clothes are stupidly priced!!!

Yeah I just bought bigger shirts too! I hate maternity clothing. I've got a belly band that can go over any old pair of jeans, so I use that. I did buy an official pair of maternity jeans for when I'm in my 3rd trimester though. I have a feeling my hips are taking some of the extra weight since I'm starting to get stretchmarks there, so I needed a back-up plan if I can't get my old pants on in a month or two. lol :haha:

cool n soothe (the thing you put on ur head)
lukazade & ice pops

Ohh man... just reading about morning sickness is making my tummy turn :haha:
I had it really bad in 1st trimester, and even worse in 2nd trimester as i got hyperemesis :dohh: what really helped me were accupressure bands, the ones you wear on your wrist? I really had no faith in things like that at first, but i got sooo sick i was willing to try anything! Google them :winkwink:

I don't know if i'd have coped with the leg cramps if i hadn't had tonic water and Quinine tablets - honestly they both realllllly work for those annoying leg pains.

Iron suppliments for tiredness (though they can cause a bit of constipation :haha: sorry TMI!)

Nothing helps my heartburn :( apart from maybe occasionally full-fat milk and yoghurt.

When i had morning sickness really bad Saltine crackers were my best friend :)

but aside from that

Iron pills has helped with the sleepyness

And

Zantac was a LIFESAVER from Heartburn

Good luck with your pregnancy Its only the first trimester that i was really sick

I started getting morning sickness in my second trimester (i'm strange? :p) But, I would eat 6 saltine crackers before I would step out of bed in the morning and made sure to eat breakfast

Thanks for all the tips!
I'll definetly keep some crackers by my bed and try the perfume thing.
It seems like different things work for everyone so I should just try around. :smug:
