what are u using to wash down there?

At the moment I use regualr bathing soap, irish spring--I know not the best thing to use right? what are u ladies using to wah the va jay jay to keep it clean and not affecting the ph, is gentle at the same time.

My friens says she use i think vagisil vaginal was but I thought that was bad for u? or is it only the douching thats bad? she also does a PLAIN organic yogart which she puts up in there she said it's good for the PH what u ladies think and what is ur down below regimen?

I don't use anything but water. I use Dove soap to wash my body, but don't use it on my external vagina---I have a bladder disease, so I had to stop washing myself down there long ago.

Actually, you shouldn't put anything inside your vagina to 'clean' it. The vagina is self cleaning (cm anyone?). Putting soap on the outer area (vulva, mons, outer labia) is acceptable, but the best way to maintain a proper ph is to let nature do what it is meant to. If you do feel something is screwy, see your doctor. There's a neat website I've found called vaginapagina.com. It's got all kinds of information on women's health and body issues.

i just use whatever I use to clean my body....but that is only external.
I do not use anything to clean inside.
I have used like vaginal cleansing cloths before.....and they gave be BV.

I only clean externally, I've had several yeast infections and UTIs and had to learn the hard way that soap is not my friend down there. I use Johnson's Head to Toe baby wash everyday, I have bad reactions with other stuff.

I definetly would never wash inside. I just wash outside. I agree, it would upset the ph balance and to be perfectly honest..it may kill sperm!

You're not talking about douching, are you? Just for external wash.

Well, my gyno said that a) no soap in liquid form should enter there (ie all those 'feminine' products on the shelves are not highly recommended, esp. if in liquid form and b) to use baby soaps, like Fissan, Penaten or Aubus. Unfortunately I haven't managed to find those products in the UK- but perhaps the ladies in the US can, as I've seen them in amazon? The rest of the 'normal' shower soaps (ie Dove etc) can mess you up as far as I've read and been told.

Following this advice for all my life, I've never had a single problem down there.

i use that femfresh intimate wash its really good, been using it since i started my periods at the age of 9, infact both my mum and big sis use it too (we were a house of only girls) so alot of the time things were quite open minded etc

I use Lush soap - because it is light on chemicals .... but I just need to check out what you laydeez are terming internal and external?

Might sound obvious, but the lady-parts have so many folds it can be hard to work out what to term the 'in betweeny bits'?

To me, external is the bits you'd see on a Barbie Doll i.e. external skin
and the internal bits are the 'up the la-la' bits that you could only reach with douching

but what about the bits in between? the folds and flaps? are they internal or external?

(and for the record, I wash the in-betweeny bits with Lush soap too, but leave the internals to take care of themselves)

Dove Body Wash. Yes even down there externally. I don't douche really. TMI ALERT: I used to use summer's eve when I was athletic but found out that I only had a stinch of odor because I was sweating "down there." LOL. So yeah, since then, I don't use anything other than body wash. I let my natural body take its course in the cleaning process. I feel this is the best way to avoid outside chemicals for messing up my natural ability to TTC.

I use only water. I've had my fair share of UTIs and yeast infections, so I've learned to completely avoid that area when washing. I wash my legs and hips and stomach and try to avoid getting soap anywhere near my vagina. I used to have a mirena and when I checked for the strings with my fingers, I would then use a vaginal cleansing wipe to keep whatever bacteria may have been on my hand (even though I washed them) from causing problems down there. I would suggest those wipes for external cleansing if you don't feel fresh. Other than that, stick to water.
