Violet loves containers with lids, so when I saw a package of plastic eggs at the store, I figured she'd enjoy playing with them. We grabbed them and I suggested that we just give her the eggs for Easter. My husband figured we could still put things in the eggs, but we both agreed that it could just be stuff we find around the house. So we're going simple. Maybe as she gets older we'll do a little candy or something.

What are your plans?

I always intend on going small, but it never works. Ever. :) DD is 26 mo, and she's getting LeapFrog flashcards that go with her reader pen, a stuffed floppy bunny, a new blanket, a giant Kinder egg that's filled with Kinder eggs, a couple of DVDs, a few games, books, and some other things.

It's obviously not going to fit in the basket, and I know it's a lot, but the games and DVDs are because I overbought for her bday and Christmas. She got sick of opening gifts, so they went away and will come out now! Some may think it's spoiling, but honestly? I don't care! She's an only child (thus far), well mannered, and smart as a whip. If I had $1 in my pocket, I'd give her $2. :)

Lo is 16 months old! He's getting a book and a small (absolutely tiny) white chocolate egg(because his daddy insisted, said he would feel guilty if he didn't get one:haha:)

Going to give her a box of plastic eggs with a few small things inside - stickers, hair clips etc. I suspect the eggs themselves will be as much fun as the things inside it - sorting colours, filling buckets, floating them in the bath. I know her grandma has got her a small chocolate egg and a set of gardening stuff.

We put coins in the plastic eggs, and then they get to put them in their piggy banks. Also will have some snack foods, like fruit snacks and juice box. A few small toys. My older son is getting 2 games for his innotab, as I had bought them at christmas time and forgot about them, so saved them for Easter. I'll find a few small toys for Ds2.

We don't do baskets but we will be having a little Easter egg hunt for LO and her cousins. We have plastic eggs and will put stuff inside like stickers or mini eggs.

We're going to get her an Easter egg for the first time this year, but something small.

Last year we hid eggs and put little crackers and raisens in them. She love hunting for them- obviously very easy places she's spot! Then sitting and eating the "treats" inside ;) We had my girlfriend w/her daughter and my brothers family over with my niece-- the girls had a blast.

Not sure what we are going to do this year- I'd like to go find a proper easter egg hunt outside (weather permitting). But if not, then we might just do something similar this year or have a brunch or something at the house. She might get a little basket with a stuffed bunny- or healthy snacks. The only junk we even allow our teenager to have on easter are peeps (ack! I just think they are so gross: :haha: lucky they only come out once a year!

I'm debating whether we should try coloring eggs this year? Maybe find a good pinterest idea so it's less messy. haha

I saw on pinterest to use a wire wisk to color them with. Put the egg inside the wisk area, and then dip in color, and take out.

We go all out. It's one of my favorite holidays. :) candies, chocolates, eggs, beautiful Easter baskets and dresses, fabulous dinner, stuffed bunny rabbits, decorating the yard. Love Easter!!

We've never really celebrated Easter but I love the idea of putting things in the little eggs for my lo - thanks ladies!!

For lo's Easter basket, I got 2 coloring books (he already has tons of crayons), the complete tales of Beatrix Potter, a set of matchbox cars, and I will get a very small container of chocolate bunnies. I also have little finger puppers that my mom will put in plastic eggs to hide around the yard.

I'll probably add some additional trinkets to his basket before Easter, but I haven't decided what else to get.

Our library storytime has little Easter plastic eggs for the babies that are filled up with rice or beans and things like that and taped/glued shut to make little musical shakers. I plan to make a few of those if I get around to it!

For his basket I got a book, a Thomas movie, some basic art supplies, a little chocolate bunny and small candies. He doesn't like sweets and I don't want to give too much but he's super skinny and could use the weight so I will offer them to him. He probably won't eat them. I might put in a banana or apple. Oh and I got a stuffed lamb toy.

I might do an egg hunt around our house or yard and try coloring eggs.

last year I used a mould and made their own eggs and iced their name on it-- the kids loved them and it was easy!! can then put toys etc what ever you like in them

also like a hunt and a tree with little wooden eggs hanging!

Good thinking!

Are Easter baskets a big American thing or have I missed out my whole life on this?! I used to get Easter eggs at Easter and make them last as long as possible (eating them for breakfast, my poor parents!!) and it honestly hasn't crossed my mind to do anything for LO for Easter!

YEs, I think Americans make a pretty deal out of Easter with taking the kids to see the Easter Bunny, Easter Egg hunts, coloring easter eggs, Easter baskets with candy/small gifts in them....But I think we tend to go overboard on ALL holidays. LOL

I honestly had no idea that people gave gifts on easter! We'll probably have a little chocolate, she can share my egg if I get one. I might decorate some eggs since they seem to be one of her favourite foods at the moment so she'll enjoy that at least.

OH has demanded that we make this a 'small' holiday (not that it's not important, but he brought to my attention that we don't have to go all out on EVERY holiday) I reluctantly agree with him. So, LO will get an easter basket with SOME candy, some healthy snacks, maybe a stuffed animal of some sort and a book and/or movie. No big toys.......as much as I REALLY want to  And maybe a nice outfit for dinner that we have at my grandparents.

We are in buttons for easter this year I'm going to buy some plastic eggs and put treats in them to do a easter hunt around the Accommodation not sure what else yet

I think I'm going to make some sensory eggs, filled w rice, beans, etc for DD! She's very VERY demanding, especially when it comes to food...I'm talking about she'll throw tantrums if she can't have something we're eating or drinking... So I try my hardest not to introduce sweets to her. (Grandma on the other hand....)

But yeah, I saw this and I thought it was cute and something she'll really enjoy!
