What are your experiences with Metformin?

I went to docs today and - as I expected - she again told me it was mt weight causing my anovulation & making th epcos worse. She's given me metformin and orlistat and said i can take the two together. She said if i can lose 2 stone in 3 months she'll give me clomid!! I got af today too after a three month wait so a good day all round for me

My question is, doc said the met might give me diarrhoea and vomiting. What's everyones experiences with it? Has it worked for anyone? I'm starting with one tablet a day with her monitoring me til i get to 3 tabs a day (if i get on with it).

hi hun, i got diagnosed with pcos recently and started taking the metformin. started off on 1 tab per day 2nd week-2per day and 3 per day thereafter! Have been taking 3 a day for about a week or so now. Some tummy issues bloating, diahrrheoa and constipation but no where near as bad as it was in the beginning-think my bodies coming to terms with the new meds xxx
