What birth control are you using, and do you like it?

I take the BCP Nordette. I love it. I've taken it for a few years now and have had no adverse reactions. My periods were always sporadic so it's nice to know the exact date it's coming. We don't use condoms either and it has never failed.

After ds2 we were using condoms which we've always used when we had an accident and I fell pregnant when he was just 7 months old. I'm now petrified that the same thing will happen again after this baby is born so we'll probably just never have sex again!

Lol!

I had the nexplanon placed at 6weeks postpartum. It has been great so far. No side effects. I did have about 10 days of bleeding but that's it. I am breastfeeding so no Af so far

I'm planning to get an IUD this month. Hoping I don't have any bad reactions to it (aka lots of bleeding for months on end). Hopefully it all goes well. I'm finished having kids so the idea of something being effective for 5 years appeals to me.

I have the mirena IUD. Did bleed off and on for a month. Had a period in November and December, next one will be due in a couple days. I like it. I'm not a bitch like I was with the depo shot and I actually want to have sex.

Condoms for now. Still breastfeeding and didn't like the mini pill when I took it after my first - had virtually no libido.
Im thinking of changing now that I'm dialling back the feeding, but unsure what to go for. We haven't decided if we want any more babies yet.

Thanks for sharing, all.
What's Nexplanon?

Is Mirena hormone-free?

Nexplanon is a thin rod that is implanted in your arm. Also known as the "implant". Mirena is not hormone free but there is another brand that is.

I'm going for the copper coil this time had merina after DS but I'm sensitive to hormones and it made me feel constantly pregnant ( nausea and sore breasts) not what I wanted with a new baby. All symptoms went away after they took it out.

I got the depo injection for 8 years. Never got a period, it was great. I stopped having it 6 months ago because we are thinking about TTC again.

How did anyone who got the coil (Mirena or copper) find the actual procedure?

It took about 9 months for my periods to return after stopping the depo so don't be discouraged! I only used it for 18 months

Right, got a Mirena fitted today. Procedure was fine, just felt like a smear but longer. Now to see what happens...

*cough* celibacy  (well HJ and BJ are still on ;) )

I used to have a copper IUD called gynefix. it is smaller than a coil it doesnt have arms.
it only took a minute or so to fit and never caused any displeasure.
