First pregnancy and I am over 35yrs. I have my first appointment on 3/20 (seems so far away!) and want to make sure that I am asking for all of the right testing. I do have faith that my dr will order the appropriate testing, but I have read stories on here where someone expected a test, but it wasnt ordered (ex: hcg).

So can anyone give me a list of the "must have" blood tests?

Hi. I had a panorama test done. Well worth it! I'd recommend that as a must!

Definitely do the Panorama, Verifi, Harmony, or MaterniT21 test. These are all different names for cell-free DNA tests. They are excellent non-invasive prenatal screens for chromosomal abnormalities and can also tell you the baby's sex. My triple scan came back with a 1:42 chance of LO having Down's. Luckily I had the Verifi bloods drawn the same day, so I only had a week and a half of worrisome wait to find out that I'm having a chromosomally normal little girl.

Good luck! Hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy.

Thank you both! I wish you both a healthy pregnancy!

I did some research and here are a few additional tests that I came across, just in case anyone had the same question:

Blood type
Rh
Hcg
Hemoglobin
Complete blood count
German measles
PAPP-A
Cell free DNA test

In the UK you get the following as standard:

Rubella immunity
HIV
Sickle Cell
Blood Type
Iron levels
Full blood count

There may be others?
