I am using the Medela MiniElectric BP and I really love it. It was rather expensive and I am wondering if I could have gone the cheaper route with better effectiveness.

I have no idea what it is called, and it is in storage at the moment so I cant look, lo. But my MIL bought me an electric pump in an American store. I was trying to use a hand pump and it was so painful, I cried.

Whatever you buy I suggest an electronic pump. You can even get you OH to hold it for you while you eat or something hehe.

I used an Advent hand pump at first as I don't express very often, but tbh I just manually express now, it's quicker.

I have a tommee tippee manual one but have yet to use it!

Medela pump in style...

borrowed it from a friend (Got all new tubing and valves so no cross contamination for anyone wondering).

I used it briefly, but since I'm not technically lactating yet, I obviously didn't get anything, but it didnt' hurt and it will be great I think to pump.

My first I had a hand pump... worked, but what a pain in the ass.

I've heard the Lansinoh brand was a great one at $99us.

I have a Medela manual pump and it can be a pain in the ass. It's effective, but it takes quite a while. I'm definitely looking to go the electric route. So far I've heard great things about Medela electric pumps. I was on BabiesRus earlier looking at reviews and they sound fantastic.

I have a Medela MiniElectric as well, but I did not get anything out with it :hissy:

I don't really know why!

I get a huge amount with the pump, it's really great.
I think I am super happy with it, so many sources recommend that one.
My hubby knew what he was doing when he got it.

I got the avent hand pump... was the only one Argos sold and I was buying on our left over wedding gift vouchers for Argos! lol

It works really well; got no probs with it and I get as much milk as I could ever want or need to express  Works for me :)

I have the Medela pump in style advanced, I had to get a really good electric one that works fast because I will be going back to work part-time in 12 weeks.

I just bought one of these to get started with. I'm hoping it works out well enough for us. I'm hoping I won't need to express much, just for the occasional feeding. I was thinking I would use a quiet manual one more than a louder electric one. I will also go with the Medela electric pump if the manual one isn't working well enough.

UGH!! I'm so angry about this topic. I was planning on primarily breastfeeding, so we went for the Playtex double electric breast pump. :hissy::hissy::hissy: It said for long term occasional use, and I use it very occasionally. It worked for like the first week or two, and now when I try to use it, even while filled to the rim with milk, it wont pump it out. Babies R Us wont take back breast pumps since they are personal hygiene products, so I will be contacting Playtex for a refund and send it back to them. Its horrible, and I am regretting very much now not spending a little bit extra on the Medela! I knew when I bought it that I should get the Medela. :dohh:

:hugs: Sounds frustrating. I hope you get your money back! x
