What colour eyes and hair is your baby likely to have?

I have green eyes and was blonde until I was about 10 then went mousey and hubby has bluey-green eyes and dark hair so not sure!

im dark with hazel eyes and hubby has blue eyes - his hair goes from blonde in summer to darker in winter!! his hair was white pretty much when he was little lol! so ive no idea! x

Genetics mean that baby is much more likely to take husband's colouring (Chinese) than mine (was born with blonde hair and blue eyes... hair a little darker now).

I expect brown eyes and probably lightish browny hair (husband's hair is brown in the right light - so think it is unlikely that the baby will have black hair).

we both have blue eyes. I have ash blond hair which was ligher blond when i was little but brown when i was born. Hubby is quite ginger especially as a child but is more strawberry blonde now, so i think Sophie will have light ginger hair and blue eyes

OHs hair is blonde was white when he was a kid

Mine is naturally strawberry blonde but looks very ginger in the summer,

So our son will either have

Blonde hair
ash blonde
Red
strawberry blonde

To make a redhead, both parents need to be carrying the redhead gene, i.e even if both you have dark hair, you could still be carrying the gene without noing, my mum has black hair my dad browny hair, but i have scottish family... so thats where my light hair must come from, my twin brother on the other hand has brown hair and it goes more red in the summer

My ex had black hair, but a ginger beard... and i was sure our girl was going to be a red! but she has lovely mousey blondey/brown hair

very strange how genes work... but its a waiting game, you wont know for sure till bubs is here!!!

The baby's eye colour will actually be defined by the grandparents eye colours - as you'll carry 2 genes, one from your mother and father and same for baby's father. Your eye colour will of course be your most dominant gene but it could go either way.

For me, I have blue eyes. I have 1 parent with blue eyes and 1 with green.
Hubby has brown eyes. He has 1 parent with brown eyes and the other green.

Chances are that our baby has a 2 in 4 chance of green eyes and 1 in 4 of blue or brown - even tho' me and hubby have blue and brown eyes, baby has more chance of green

Genes are a funny thing! I have no idea where my daughter gets her gorgeous looks from because it certainly isnt from me or her dad!!

Although my hair is mousy now, it was flame red when I was young and I always thought any children of mine would be redheads but apparently not!

Im very very pale, mousy hair and green eyes, my OH is olivey skinned, black hair and brown eyes.

Our daughter has quite tanned skin, bright blue eyes and was born with jet black hair, although its nearly blonde now!

No idea what the next one will look like xx

Grandparents don't decide 100% what eye colour baby will have, it plays a small part tho. Blue eye color is what they call recessive, which means that you need two genes for blue eyes to actually have blue eyes. Green and brown are more dominant tho, so if one parent has brown or green eyes that will be the stronger gene, they do say however that we all carry two genes for eye colour and hair colour and it just depends which one is passed on.

Both got dark brown hair and green eyes but ohs eyes turn bluey in certain lights. He has redheads and dark hair in his family and my familys all dark!x

mine is going to be 70% green and 30% blue, I guess will see. Bubs eye color will be changing for the first six months anyway. Hope for green!

If you look at how it works, they actually do hon! A baby has to inherit 2 genes, 1 from the mother and 1 from the father. The mother and fathers genes (2 on each side) come from their parents (1 from each) and so on.

The reason I (and my brother) have blue eyes, with a blue eyed father and a green eyed mother is that we have 2 grandparents with blue eyes and 1 with green and 1 with brown.

Hair colour inheritence is a complete mystery though.

me - blond and blue eyes (white blond till late teens)
oh - hazel eyes and blond/red hair

I did the eye thing and have a 66% chance of the boys being brown eyed 16% blue and 16% green

Not a clue with the hair though my mum is black hair and dad moussey brown ohs parents both brown ...........

I appreciate your opinion hun and im not arguing with your for the sake of it, but its not 100% true. Grandparents play a part but they don't soley determine what colour eyes your baby will have. Look on the internet there are so many other factors that come into it.

So strange, as my children so far have many recessive genes with the light hair and blue eyes, they do have my skin tone which is Italian (darker)...my husband is quite fair.....

None of my children look like either of us per se, but they look like each other~

Ss (wavy) x Ss (wavy) = 75 % chance wavy: 25 % curly
