Hello,

I posted this on the TTC forum, because thats the point I am at, but someone suggested I post it here which makes much more sense!

My question is about early pregnancy cramps. What do they feel like? Are they a bit like AF cramps? How do you know the difference?

The reason I ask is that I am 10 dpo and after giving it our all think I have a good chance of conceiving. However I am getting mild cramps so assume its just AF on her way. Should I consider myself out? Or it is possible that its the cramps lots of ladies report at this stage?

Many thanks,

Up until the begining of 7 weeks, If you would have asked me I would have for sure told you af was coming. There was no difference in the feeling from the prego cramps to the af cramps at all.

I am 12dpo today, and got my BFP at 10dpo .. I have been feeling some bloating cramps (like when I get AF). So of course I am freaking out! I would love to see what the answers are here as well.

I thought af was on the way with the cramping and feeling 'heavy' down below uf that makes sence? But i was pregnant! X

I was 20 dpo (didn't know at the time). I took a pg test because the night before I got amazingly painful AF cramps, took some ibuprophen and a hot water bottle and woke up with still no AF :happydance:

Yeah they feel either identical to AF cramps, or at least in my case kind of like shocking pain, like electric shocks. Also I had a lot of pretty painful lower back pain/cramps.

Mine felt just like af and I was pregnant so don't count yourself out just yet, here is a sprinkle of some baby dust for you *************** (that's baby dust, lol!) good luck x x x

I have never really gotten AF cramps but I had terrible cramping in the first weeks of both of my pregnancies. They actually woke me out of my sleep last night.

Mine were much much lighter than af cramps, and I could pinpoint a place where it hurt, which really helped put my mind at ease. With my af cramps I hurt all over, but with my early preg cramps (like right this second!) I can actually out my finger on one point where it hurts.

Mine felt just like AF cramps. Even after I got my BFP.. I still swore for weeks that AF was going to hit me at anytime (but it never did!)

Mine felt much more localised than with AF. With her, I feel crampy all around my abdomen. When I had pregnancy cramps they were just above my pubic bone. I was like AHA! that's where my uterus is

Mine felt exactly like AF cramps. I couldn't even tell the difference to be honest.

Like AF cramps that were milder (like when AF is just starting to come on, not full on cramps) and shorter (AF cramps are constant, these came and then left).

I could tell a difference in mine which is what prompted me to test. AF they are like a burning all over sensation in my tummy, but these are more like someone said before, I can locate the pain. Earlier they were alternating from right side to left side. Now they are right in the center. Not necessarily painful, just pressure and pulling.

The morning that i got my first bfp, i woke up feeling so heavy and crampy down there, sure that af would be there and i didn't need to test.. but tested and got my BFP :D

So yeah, the feeling is the same!

Everywhere hurts when I'm due AF, with the pg cramps it is more localised.. like I can feel where the cramp is?! x

Last night I got one of those bloated cramps at about 230 in the morning.. woke me right up.. went away after a bit, but still SUCKS! Ugh..

Thanks for all your responses folks!

I have done 3 tests and got my BFP :bfp:

Yay!

Congratulations!!!

I'm in the same boat too, only I'm 16-17dpo and 3 days late for AF.
Still too scared to test as I'm cramping like AF is coming :(

So pleased you got your BFP :)
