I'm currently expressing for Alex. But i'll be leaving hospital in a few days, so i won't have the hospital pump.

Where do i get one for home? What about the sterile bottles?

And alex is only getting .5mls a day on a drip, whereas my mammaries just keep going. Should i just express and throw away, because she has got so so much in the freezer it's silly!

SCBU should have a pump they can lend you. When Findlay was in we were told where the sterile bottles were kept and told to just help ourselves to them. We did end up throwing some of mine out as we were told to only keep it for 3 weeks as milk changes so fast early on and like you we ran out of room in the freezer!

I bought my own pump from expressyourselfmums online (Ameda Lactaline pump with accesories) and it comes with a car adapter so you can pump to and from the hospital which has been a lifesaver when Findlay was in hospital when he was born and when he was in these last 2 weeks and we were backwards and forwards several times a day.

I have a double pump for sale in wanted section with 10 storage bottles ....it says add extra 5 pound for bottles but dont worry about that have a look and let me know if ur interested x

You could always donate any 'extra' you end up with.
I would, after three weeks as suggested replace older milk with newer milk, as milk is good in the freezer for a long time you could donate this older milk or donate a combintion of old and new.

you may be able to borrow pump from hospital or a breastfeeding project in your area or just buy one. You can never have too much milk in the freezer...donate...put it in your tea:rofl: but don't throw it away:dohh::dohh:. They call it liquid gold for a reason.

Ask your neonatal unit these questions as they will have more idea about what your local area has in the way of renting pumps and donating milk:happydance:
