Here is my Question... What do you do when you have had all the tests and scans and had a Lap & Dye, D & C and all results came back normal with no signs of endo, no signs of invection and no reason on this planet earth that could give a reason for not being able to ovulate??????

I am overweight by say 60 pounds but could my weight be the only reason for not ovulating???????

Tricky one i know but all replies welcome....

:hugs::hugs::hugs:

Hey, Ive just been told I dont ovulate :( but Ive been given clomid so fx that will help, I dont know why I dont, could be weight or stress. Have you spoken to your docs?

Hiya hun,

From the tests that you mentioned none of them are actually for ovulation!

Here are some of the most common reasons for anovulation (just one of them is sufficient to block ovulation - you don't have to have all of them at the same time!):

Elevated Prolactin levels
Elevated androgen (male hormones) levels
Diminished ovarian reserve
Overweight/Insulin resistance

Have you had all of the above tests done?

To answer your question about weight - yes, in most cases losing weight will restore ovulation.

i wish i had the answer for u hun :hugs: xxx BUt tbh im sure its NOT ur weight, i dont think 60lb is a great deal over weight. But then that doesnt leave u with an answer x x x

Don't forget thyroid too, that was my primary reason for not Oving (which has also lead to weight and pcos)

Yep, that's a good one! Thyroid seems to be responsible for a lot of things - both ttc related and other. I think it's tested through a blood test and a scan (Ive only had a scan of my neck)

Thanks girls, I think i will have a look into the thyroid thing, as I know im insulin resistant too, but I am seriously at wits end...
When I spoke to my GP a few weeks ago and he placed me back on Hormone Therapy almost like the pill but it's not the pill just regulates the hormones and gives me AF every 30 days, He said to me and this was his exact words.. " you being too overweight to conceive is absolute bull shit!!!!!"

So will get my thyroid checked out....:hugs::hugs:

Just to add re:weight...

Yep, being overweight isn't a 'you wont conceive'. There are women I've seen get pg with BMI in the 40s. However, some of us are more sensitive to it than others. A study showed that for BMI above 29, you lose 4% BMI for every extra BM point (so at 36 BMI, a woman would be 7 points over, therefore 28% less fertile than at a healthy weight).
