What do you put your babies to sleep in this heat?

No air con here - while the weather is hot it's not consistently hot to warrant air con

DS2 room is showing as 30 deg (86 for the US ladies ;) ) both him and DS1 are going to bed in just nappy/pants with a thin bag for DS2 and just a sheet for DS1

Ugh 86 in the house would be unbearable here, with the humidity. We lost power last week and it got up to about 80 and we could hardly sleep.

The heat index is over 100-105 (40 for you ladies!) here all week, we are under a heat advisory. I couldn't imagine not having AC! My children wear pajamas to bed, we cosleep. It's a cool 71 degrees in our room at night (just under 22 for you ladies over the pond!).

It's been like this ALL SUMMER for us, well when I say all summer I mean including June, so even longer than all summer. Not all over 100, but in the 90s pretty much every day, and oppressively hot and humid.

We only go out to the park before 10 am. If we don't make it before 10 am, we don't go out. Well, unless it is to the pool or splash park or somewhere with water.

It was unbearable, we didn't get much sleep :(

Thankfully the weather has broken today and it's much cooler

Just curious as to why some do not have air conditioner? Is it to expensive or what? My family in Sicily doesn't have it either, but it is cool there it is near the water..It is very expensive in Italy so they wouldn't have it anyway, LOL.. Thanks :flower:

From a northern uk point of view we just don't get enough hot days to justify it. We've had a mini heat wave and everyone is struggling! I was out yesterday and people were vomiting and fainting because of the heat!

In Ireland we definetly don't need it !!!! Its not the norm to get hot weather ! The odd week or so every 2 years lol

I suppose it's like asking someone in a tropical climate why they don't have heat....lol.

There are places in the world where it is comfortable year round, wish I lived one of those places!

Yeah it's not normally this hot in the UK, our summer usually lasts 1-2 weeks ;-) hehe

Spring and fall are about 2 weeks here, it goes from hot to cold and cold to hot pretty quick.

Since having kids I'm so appreciative of our climate. Yes it rains a bit much but temp wise it's great, so mild for them.
