When they ask difficult questions. I was thinking, although it won't be a problem this year, but it might be next year, Ella might ask how Santa gets into our house because we have no chimney.
What difficult questions have your kids asked and how have you answered them?? :flower:

We are going to tell Tegan that Santa has a special key to get into the houses of children without fireplaces. That's what my Mum told us when we were younger :)

my mum used to tel me santa had a key to get into the house to deliver the presents when we had no chimney. then when i caught her putting my santa sack in my room one year she told me santa left them downstairs for her to put in our rooms

We dont have a fireplace so we need an excuse too. Chloe and Jaycee will be coming up to two when Christmas comes so I dunno if they will understand but next year they will and I shall be telling them that santa has a key to get in because what other answer could you give lol

Yep, same here, Santa has a magic key! My kids are 14 and 12, (13&11 last xmas) and we always have the mince pies, brandy/whiskey and carrot for rudolf tradition but i didnt bother last year as i thought they were getting a bit too old. They both came downstairs at bedtime and asked to do it, lol. I was shocked but liked the fact they want to keep the magic alive. (even though they know the truth.) :shhh:

My son has a magic key that he leaves on the doorstep for Santa.
When we were little we were told that he has a magic key which can open any door!

I tell them that Santa is magical and can get into the house even without a fireplace. It works.

For now.

My almost 9 year old daughter was starting to ask questions these past two years and I think she is getting suspicious. I think I may get one more year out of her.

my parents used a big red plastic key that she had from a toy set of keys and on Christmas eve, we'd put the mince pies, milk & carrots in front of the fireplace & then hang the key up on a nail in the wall outside our house for him to use. I think that's the story i'll use when Charlie's older :) x

Honestly? I tell them that it's all a massive game of lets pretend.
