Hello,

Just started using ovulation tests a few days ago, i have been having two lines but one is faint. I should ovulate tomorrow according to this app i have on my iphone.

Is a negative just the control line and nothing else? or with a faint line?

Or does a faint line mean that there is something there?

Thanks :flower:

If it's not as dark as the control it's negative. It has to be the same colour or stronger to be positive. Hope that helps.

Oh and keep testing twice a day when the second line starts to show, sometimes your surge can be as short as 10 hours.

Thank you, Thats a great help

Will keep on testing

The line should be nice and dark, but sometimes you won't pick up the surge due to the time of day you tested, because the surge only lasts a few hours. It is really hard to say for sure that a faint line is a negative - keep up the BD just in case. If the line is darker tomorrow, you are heading towards ov, if it's lighter you may ov today, if it's the same, you are somewhere else in your cycle xxx

I've never had a completely positive OPK. They got darker and darker then faded again but never both lines the same. I am 5.5 weeks pregnant though so it'snot always the case.

If it;s faint though I wouldn't think it's positive.
